Reviews of Hilton Kansas City Airport
"Man this hotel sucked. Never restock towels at the pool. Claimed the pool was “heated” it was cold. No hot tub Bed are barely a double size (tiny) Worst of all it’s DIRTY they don’t clean it well. Lobby at breakfast literally had mud somehow on the tables, trash all over the floor of lobby. Starbucks ran out of espresso. I thought this would be a slight upgrade from a Holiday Inn but no lol no way. I’ll never come back."
"We went to this specific hotel because after reading positive reviews, we thought it would be a good one. Honestly, if you want a nice hotel, with a peaceful sleep, nice bathroom , and cleanliness all around, I DO not believe this this is the hotel for you. I always appreciate the reviews as they are a huge help. However, this time around, i don't know what happened. The reviews were opposite to what this hotel actually was like. I've made a list of the pros and cons, and you can go through them and check them off. (We stayed in the Supreme double room) Pros: 1. Service is fantastic. From the time you go into the hotel to the time you leave, the hotel staff is always smiling. Very kind. At the resteraunt, even though they're very short staffed , the service was slow, but they constantly check on you and make you feel very welcomed into their resteraunt. 2. Beautiful pool area. Even has an outside pool combined with the inside pool. 3. There's a nice gym for people like me who love a good workout in the am. (Will speak more on this in the cons) 4. Perfect location, in my opinion. You're not too far from anything. 5. People reviewed and said you had to pay for parking. We were not charged, nor was there anything on paying for parking Cons: 1. The rooms look abused. Lampshade had holes in it. Bathtub paint is peeling. Toilet doesn't flush and the water after a shower takes a century to go down. Backboard of bed looks like it's ready to retire. Floors look like they were vacuumed in a rush with dirt left over. The AC barely worked which created a hot then cold room with no balance. 2. It's a very busy hotel, look at the name. "Hilton Kansas city airport" . There's lots of people coming and going. At night there was a verbal fight down our hallway which made it nearly impossible to sleep. I know that's out of the control of the hotel but that's what I mean by a lot of people coming and going. Almost every night there was something going on. 3. I'm not against drinking/alcoholic beverages. However, I do believe a hotel shouldn't supply alcohol on the premises just due to the chaos that can be caused by overconsumers. 4. There is no free breakfast with this hotel. You have to pay for everything at the restaurant and it is not cheap. This is up to discussion though because even though it is expensive, it is really good food. An example, we ordered cheese cake. It was $9 for the skinniest slice you've ever seen. It could've fed a family of squirrels. But it was good. Steak is fantastic but we ended up paying over $130 just for 3 people. 5. Gym is good but the people in the gym have bad etiquette. Not cleaning the machine after a sweaty session. Make sure you clean before use. Some of the equipment doesn't work. There was only two treadmills that actually worked compared to the 4 or 5 they have. I could type more but I don't necessarily enjoy giving negative reviews. I hope this helps and honestly, its only my review of our 3 night stay. Perhaps after reading this you still want to go. I will say there are hotels cheaper and would possibly have better rooms. I know reviews can be misleading which can lead to a bad decision like what happened to us. So honestly, by the end of it, I won't be making reservations to this hotel again no matter what other reviews have said."
"We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and has everything. Pet friendly hotel too, which is a big plus. The shuttle service is awesome; called upon arrival and the shuttle came in just a couple minutes. Staff are all friendly. They have a starbucks on site which is super convenient; members can use it for their F&B credit. We will use this location again in the future."
"This was the most unpleasant stay I have ever had with Hilton. Day one: The heater made a loud noise throughout the night which kept me up all night. Day two: I was moved to another room and the toilet would not flush so it kept turning as if it was flushing and it wasn’t. The maintenance guy came up and stopped it from turning. Fifteen minutes later, I intentionally flushed the toilet, and it did the same as it was doing before. I then was moved to another room and it was filthy. I notified the front desk each time, and all they would say is, “We will let the manager know.” I never heard from the manager my entire stay and I was there for four days. I was there for a conference and did not have time to try and find another hotel. Upon checkout, I was charged $15 per day for food, which is complementary for Gold members and above. The guy at the front desk told me that the “$15 daily food and beverage” is good for one day and it is “daily” for diamond members (I am a Gold member). This is clearly for Gold and above members. I will never stay at this Hilton ever again, and I will not recommend this hotel to anyone that is visiting Kansas City. Worst experience ever!!"
"OUR TRUCK WAS STOLEN!!! Update: This hotel even refuses to refund our parking payment. We payed for 8 days and the truck was stolen on day 1! They have ruined Hilton's reputation with me! Unbelievable! They even had their airport shuttle stolen from the lobby unloading area in broad daylight. They won't tell you that though. Terrible location. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Our Truck was STOLEN! We used the Park, Stay, Go option for our 2023 Christmas travel plans. We returned to find my truck stolen from the first parking spot in the lot. I parked it under a street light and in view of 2 cameras. Hilton declined to even offer my pregnant wife, 3 kids and I a room for the night. "At your own risk" they say. I had options when I booked hotel and long term parking. I chose Hilton as I'm a Honors member and trust the name. Figured they'd look after our vehicle. They failed. Totally blown away. I'll be fighting to get my money back through Hilton but the hotel itself was no help at all. Why stay and park if they won't ensure you have a vehicle to come back to."
