Kabana Tanz

"I went to Kabana Tanz after going to Celsius Tannery for many years simply because it was way cheaper. But I guess you get what you pay for! Their beds are “decent” I guess but even a step up in a higher bed, I still burn. Whereas at Celsius I won’t, I’d just tan. The beds aren’t the newest and it shows. I had to upgrade to a level up in beds because the face tanners were cracked and so bad in the most basic bed. Also, it’s extremely hot in the salon. I’ve been to many tanning salons, in fact I’ve worked at some when I was younger and never have I been to a salon to hot inside! Lastly, the staff seems younger and honestly aren’t friendly. But hey, at least they don’t try to sell you anything! I only tan here when my budget won’t allow for a nice place and it’s the only tanning salon in Smithville so I’m kinda limited. EDIT: I have had to reach out to the owner a few times recently (2022-2023) and one of the girls working had to even call her for me a few days ago. One time they had around 12 minutes left until they closed and I only planned on tanning for 6-7 minutes total. I walked in (their doors were propped wide open) and a girl working told me they closing in 12 minutes or so and she literally told me I couldn’t tan! I was shocked considering the doors were open to almost welcome people in and since I’ve worked at a tanning salon before and it’s just not something you do. You don’t turn away someone when they’d be gone before the store closes. Then a few days ago I went in to tan (I hadn’t been in for about a month) and the girl told me that I didn’t have any tans left when I asked the previous time I was there how many I had left and if they expire and the girl working then, told me I had over 15-20 tans left and that they do NOT expire. The girl even said it didn’t make sense why it would show I don’t have any tabs left when I should have roughly 30 or so. I explained that the last time I was in I was told they don’t expire. (When my husband originally went in there with me to purchase the tans and neither of us were ever told that they expire. Or I obviously would have used them all!) I kindly asked the girl if she could please contact the owner so she called the owner on speakerphone in front of myself and my husband and the owner didn’t care one bit. She said “well uh there’s nothing we can do because tans expire after one year.” How would I have known that??? I even asked the girl for whatever paperwork I signed when I purchased the tans and she didn’t have them. And the owner could have at least let me tan that day for free. Especially since my tabs only “expired” one week prior! Instead I had to purchase a single tan to tan that day! The owner was rude and never apologized and didn’t do a single thing to make this right. Extremely frustrating when I’ve spent a lot of money there! I wish there was another tanning place in Smithville but I am definitely considering driving further to get better beds (that aren’t cracked and old) and to get better customer service from people that are actually trained properly and know what they’re doing and a place that has a decent owner."
