"I had bought a pair of boots about the time the weather turned cold, around Thanksgiving, maybe even the first part of December. I found the pair I wanted at the Independence, MO location, I loved the fit, I loved the look. I grabbed what I thought was a new box that seemed untouched, looked to verify there were 2 boots in there and that it wasn't the pair on display. Happy with the ones I grabbed, I took them to the checkout to pay for them. I don't remember the cashier looking in the box to verify the boots and if she did, I didn't pay much attention because I took the box I grabbed and headed straight to checkout. I bought the boots, and got them home. When I got home, I opened the box to clip tags and remove the packaging, and I noticed that the boots I bought, were not the boots I brought home. Immediately, I called the store and explained what happened. The girl on the other side of the phone was very apologetic and helpful and told me to bring the boots back with the receipt. A few days later I did. With no incident, the cashier making the return asked why I was bringing them back and I told her that the wrong boots were in the box. She never opened the box and very politely and apologetically did the refund. She asked if I wanted to get replacements and I said maybe at a later date, I had my two kids with me and we had plans. Fast forward to Christmas, I got those same boots, the exact ones that I had purchased for Christmas from my husband. I have worn these boots with the cold weather, but not everyday and I had stated noticing that the heel guard (I am assuming is blue plastic) started to break up and tiny fragments of blue plastic would pour into my left boot. So I tried to take them back to at least show them the problem with that boot. Fast forward once again to Friday, February 23rd, not wanting a refund or even an exchange, I took the boots and showed the girl at the door the problem with the boot. She took them and said she had to talk to the manager but to go look for different boots. I found the exact ones I brought back and a different pair that weren't so wide in the calf. As I was trying them on, the manager verbally assaulted me, telling me that he is tired of me doing this and that I had done it multiple times to different staff members including himself. I told him that he must have me confused with someone else, and he said no. He remembered me returning the boots that I had worn out before returning them. He continued calling me a thief and said that if I wanted the boots I was trying on, that I had to pay for them. Which is what I planned on doing anyway. When my husband and I got to the checkout, the casher was rude. I asked for my other boots back and he basically threw them on the counter in my direction. I paid for my new boots and when I asked for a bag, he put them in the bag and forcefully pushed them toward me as I was simply reaching for the handle. The cashier and the other workers were very rude and the manager, when he ran up on me on the sales floor, was inappropriately calling me a thief in front of other customers and staff members. I have never stolen anything, the only thing I have returned was the wrong boots that were in the box. I don't know if they belonged to Shoe Carnival or not, but those are the boots that I walked out of the store with the very first time I bought boots."
"Was accused of theft. When brought some shoes in for a defect. The manager decided to power trip blurting out alagations of theft a number of times. Then had staff watching us then the boots that were to be returned or asked about. They were thrown at my wife by the chasher. Basically was escorted out after buying boots. To the want to be bouncer / manager at the door posting up like you work out doesn't mean your about anything dude. Definitely will not be back or recommend this place to anyone."
"Great customer service, found a good pair of snow boots for my son with a nice price."
"Nestor was literally the best!! He was very friendly, kind and assisted me with all might needs, as well as the man (taller with beard) that was by the front door. They made my experience great and I’m super thankful. Thanks guys!!"
