Chicken N Pickle - St. Charles

"Phenomenal smoked wings. Typically when you go to a bar or an activity center, like this, you have to leave your expectations at home when it comes to wings. Chicken N Pickle actually delivers on all fronts. The wings have a pleasant smoky undertone - as to be expected. They’re not rubbery and chewy like some other purveyors of the smoked wing. These have the perfect texture. A lot of this has to do with them not using the dreaded, abnormal, “jumbo wing”. The fries were cold and overall terrible but we don’t have to focus on that. I tried the jerk and the Buffalo. Both kept me coming back for more. The Buffalo was a Franks and butter type sauce, as per the norm, but the proportions were balanced expertly. The jerk was a dry rub. They didn’t necessarily taste anything like authentic jerk wings but they were tasty and unique nonetheless. 8.4/10 clucks. The ranch also appeared to be homemade which is always a big bonus. Would recommend."

"The customer service here.. TOP NOTCH. For that alone, I’d come back. The atmosphere is nice! Very lively. And I love that the manager actually asked if I wanted the tv channel changed. This place gets bonus points for having Women’s College Basketball on. The food is cool, typical bar type food.. But, it’s done well. I’d recommend coming here. I bet during the summer, the atmosphere is awesome!"

"I went four days in a row to try new options... and for the drinks (which are very small but delicious). This is a really nice place to hang out and the food is good but the service on the weekdays is FAR better than the weekends. I really dislike the ordering process and them holding your card then leaving it open. As well as their tip pool. You feel obligated to significantly over-tip even if your server is not good. Lastly, there is no way they should only have two bartenders for such a large crowd. Must try: Chicken and waffles Burgers Powerbowl Pear cocktail Paloma cocktail Skip: The wings - the flavors are great but they're just not cooked right. I had to recook them at home."

"Stopped by with some friends from work for lunch and it was so nice. I really liked the place and can't wait till it gets a little warmer I feel like it's definitely about to be the new hang out spot. The food was good the sandwich was huge, the only thing I didn't like about my food was that the fries could have used some salt but they were fried well. There were two things I didn't like though. One of which was that we had to open a tap, even though we were only there for lunch which I thought was odd. The other thing I didn't like was that when you enter in and it's literally a dead zone like no cell service at all no matter the carrier. I understand maybe they want you to be in the moment, but I feel like they are good reason why you need to be able to recieve or make calls. Especially at a place that is like a meet up point and a place to drink. Overall though I thought it was great and definitely can't wait to go back and hang out."

"The atmosphere was a clear winner; the vibes are great and there’s something for everyone to do. Very family friendly. The food was about what you would expect and there is plenty of beverage options that are well priced. We went in the winter and there was nothing happening outside but I’m sure it will be busy when the weather gets warm. There were plenty of people playing pickleball inside, I did notice the court fees are quite steep. Overall I am very pleased with my experience and can’t wait to go back when it’s warmer."
