"First time visit, very impressed with food, service, ambience and location. Our party of four visited on a Friday night, needing a dinner later than many places were open. Civil Kitchen was open late! We were seated immediately, in an extension-like area that we liked very much. It was quiet, had excellent street views of the square, and the vintage interior felt as welcoming as the top-notch staff. Our wait time between order and delivery to table was very short. Each of us was pleased with the quality and taste of our meal and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner visit. We will definitely make sure to dine at Civil Kitchen upon future visits to the Springfield area."

"My girlfriend's and I were in the area for a trip to Baker Creek Seeds. We found Civil Kitchen by accident in Downtown Springfield. What a treat. Even though a car show was going on, we were able to get a table with no waiting. Our server and the bartender were great, attentive and knowledgeable. Then 4 of us tried all their infused vodkas, some of which are an acquired taste like Olive and Rosemary and Pickle. Luckily, they also have more traditional flavors like Strawberry and Peach and Basil. Definitely worth the experience. As for food, our favorites were the Crack Bread and the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake. If you're in the area, stop in and enjoy."

"Sangria was refreshing and stout was just as described on the menu, tasty. Onion Ring appetizer arrived hot and crispy, was recommended by the server. I would recommend them as well, shareable. Prime Rib Sandwich was tender, horseradish sauce was good, same with the baguette. Side of cauliflower was prepared very well. Goat Burger was well balanced with toppings, juicy patties. Fries are just an average coated crunchy fry, not my fave but that’s just me. Would think a skin-on fry would be a better match for the restaurant. Service was very pleasant, quick with everything. Only negative…I hate to see a ranch dressing charge of $0.50-my instant reaction is negative and I feel like the establishment got chintzy on me. Overall good experience, bill around $67.00 for the two of us."
