Reviews of Creve Coeur Endodontics
"Needed a root canal call got a same day appointment. Now the doctor, front desk and dental assistant was great very nice. They move very fast to get you in and out. The con i have is i would've like to get cost of my bill before services was started. After i call to back and my mouth was numb then i got the bill. while I waiting in the chair had to use the restroom and lady who ran my insurance was waiting outside the bathroom door. So i look at her said had to use the restroom she replied i was just making sure you didn't leave then walk away ."
"There is a reason why they keep getting bad reviews. Recommendation ahead so no need to read the whole thing below: 1. Call them and ask if they accept your insurance(it has to be a specific plan under the insurance company). I saw other reviews saying they want to set up an appointment even though they don't accept the insurance type. 2. Ask them for a pre-estimate cost if you know exactly what your problem is/what treatment you are looking for. If they cannot provide you an estimate, then find another clinic that can give you an estimate! Overall, don't recommend this place! Backgound: I wanted to put a crown on my tooth that was treated >10yrs ago. Before doing the crown, I need to consult a endodontist whether I need to redo the root canel or not. So I just called which ever clinic is closed to me and could set up an appointment asap. On the day of the appointment, had to filled out a bunch of paperwork. (expected those can be done electronically) Then the assistant took me in and led me to the CT immediately. I told them I had done the xray and stuff, they said te CT can see the root of the tooth better. So I did it, which I regreted later. Guess what, my insurance is a better one and covers more procedures but they only accept a certain plan of the insurance company. So they charged me $200 out of pocket. I don't think the dentist is responsible there either. (at lease the one I saw) He looked at the scan and said without hesitant that I need to redo the root canel. He did explain why I need to redo it but he gave no option for me to choose from and didn't give me rooms to ask question. And he was so ready to proceed the treatment on the day of the consultant visit if I didn't say anything else. I am glad I asked them to give me an estimate of total cost before he proceeds. The lady came back with a hand-written procedure codes and told me they only accepts certain plans of insurance(don't accept mine obviously), so I need to pay >$1400 out of pocket. I refused and stood up to check out. I was already upset at the time of the check out b/c 1. they didn't tell me they don't accept my insurance when I called for an appointment, which is a waste of my time; 2. They took me to do the CT scan without telling me the full price of it and they didn't even ask if I want a CT scan or not; 3. The lady wanted to keep my referal letter from my regular dentist. I insisted then she made a copy and gave it back to me. Honesly, I don't think they should keep my information in file especially they process everything in paper, including sensitive/private information. And no way I am going back to that place. I went to another endodontic after and I make sure they accept my insurance. They provided me an estimated-worst-scenario-out-of-pocket cost after talking to my insurance. That only costs about $200 at worst. They have a better CT machine and only charge $100 out of pocket for a CT scan. I brought in the CT scan disc so I don't need to pay for the scan again, then they decided to do a CT scan using their machine anyway free of charge! The edodontist there gave me several options that I can spend time to think and decide which is best of my interest. And he was open to answer all my questions and concerns."
"This office is unorganized, poor communicators and the front desk staff is so rude!! Was consistently hit with charges that was not previously divulged when setting up the treatment plan. -Insurance doesn't pay for laughing gas (never explained so I paid $175 for that, no questions) -Then I was told my insurance was maxed on our first visit, so I paid 300 the 1st visit. _Second visit we waited an 1.5hr for to be seen even tho we were on time for our appointment. Come to find out they took an "emergency" case. A simple call telling me the appointment would be 1.5hrs late would have saved me time and trouble, THEN at the end of the appointment I was charged $1300. -Received my EOB in the mail and thankfully i read it bc the first visit was fully covered and the second partially. so they owed me a refund! When I call in to question the EOB I received I was told "we have a third party company that handles the refunds but it takes a loooonng time to refund" So I naturally asked for the third parties name so I can contact them and received an ETA on my refund. I was told "they are a new company so I don't know their name" So basically they expect you to pay more than your insurance approved amounts and will refund you on the backend, but that is NOT how it is supposed to be done! They know what the approved amount are a head of time. My daughter has 3 teeth needing all the same work done, my insurance (same company for all teeth) has given the discounted rate to them TWICE, but they are refusing to accept a payment at the insurance agreed upon amount. So I will be filing a complaint with my insurer AND THE BBB, and will be taking my business elsewhere. The Endodontist his-self is AMAZING! The one star is really for him because he is the only reason I was planning on coming back and finishing up the treatment plan. However, after all the payment issues and me forking out more money than I should have without so much as a notice or explanation, I cannot continue to support this office. The unwillingness to work with a paying customer, one that hasn't had any bounced payments or needed any kind of payment plan is unacceptable. Wished I looked at the prior reviews before going out my way to visit this office."
"I was referred here by my regular dentist for two different root canals in the span of a month. It's a very nice office and clean work area. The staff members and assistants were so kind and Dr. Orrick is great! With the anesthesia I felt no pain whatsoever. They were also kind enough to offer a payment plan since my insurance isn't too great right now. Keep up the amazing work guys!"
"Wonderful experience! Odd to say, since it was a root canal. But this was my first one and I was nervous. Turned out to be a fairly simple and painless procedure. Even the shot to numb your mouth was painless due to the pre-swab they give you. Both the doctor and assistant made sure I was comfortable and were attentive to me during the whole process. Even got me to laugh once or twice to keep me relaxed. This is all they do, every day. Definitely recommending to others. Glad I found them! Also, because my gum had become inflamed it took two sessions (something my general dentist also predicted). But they had told me in advance the price was the same either way. It was nice having a fixed price despite the number of sessions. And lower than my general dentist."
