Jasmine Chinese Restaurant

"The main draw here is the buffet. The buffet has become smaller with very few options. There are many fried items, many chicken dishes, and some appetizers. There are very few vegetables and other meat options. They had beef and broccoli, no seafood, but 6 different chicken options. The quality and variety have declined over the last year or 2. I don't think we will be going back."

"Jasmine is one of the most reliably good Chinese restaurants in the entire Springfield/Bolivar area. Their Cashew Chicken is always spot on, and their Crab Rangoon is a perfect balance of expertly fried wonton and seasoned filling. The General Tso's Chicken at Jasmine is a fantastic combination of perfectly fried chicken and a flavorful sauce that is just spicy enough to stand out but not overwhelm Southwest Missourians. (Oh, and you can enjoy plenty of fried okra here if that's more to your liking than classic Chinese dishes!) NB! Jasmine closes between Lunch and Dinner on weekdays (usually 2-4:30pm). While that means you start Dinner with fresh, hot dishes, you also "end" Lunch with a dwindling variety of dishes that are not replenished after about 1:00pm. If you show up for a late Lunch at 1:30pm, you will not likely enjoy Jasmine's finest offerings."

"Back in the day this was the place to beat. But over the past two years it's become, how many ways can I serve chicken. My past three experiences have been eat but go home quick. Made us sick but not to the extent of going to the ER."

"Stopped here for lunch on the way through the area. They were serving a buffet. The food I would just described as average Chinese buffet food. Most of the dishes are deep-fried at some point or the other. Are many dishes that are fried chicken with sauces dumped on them. It seemed that most of the dishes were chicken based. There was a salad bar which was good. The crab rangoon were freshly-made but just had cream cheese inside. There wasn't much flavor in them. The spring rolls are pretty good though. It is a nice place to have lunch. It was a relaxing environment and the service was good. There was soft serve ice cream for dessert. Even though I considered it rather average in many ways I would still stop there again when in the area."

"I’m pretty sure that Jasmine is not Chinese (I’ve seen the movie and she looked more middle-eastern than Chinese), but she cooks some mean Chinese food. Props to her. And don’t expect to see Abu or the genie. They are not on-site. I really enjoy this restaurant. I have gone to Jasmine numerous times. There’s never been a time that I have been disappointed. The food is consistently good. There’s a great variety in food. Food on the buffet is always fresh. Honestly, there’s not much more that you could ask about a Chinese buffet. The location here is always clean. I have never ever had an issue with my table being dirty with the food on the buffet looking old. The workers do an excellent job of keeping your drink filled. I’ve always felt like the price here is outstanding. This is actually probably One of my most favorite places to eat in bolivar. I highly recommend it."
