"Well when I was a kid I got an ice cream cone here. Now it’s a very good Italian Eatery. I was recommended this place by a relative. I arrived and it was a a little slow getting my order take. But once my order was in my salad arrived pretty quickly. I’m a big bleu cheese fan. Don’t eat their bleu Cheese lol. It wasn’t very good. The food dish came out next. A steak onion and mushroom with a nice brown cream pepper sauce. Wow was it good! Once I finished the serving was really big and I had a lot left over. I received the bill and was told by the waiter, “let me know when you’re ready and I will take care of that for you.” I put my card on the table. Most restaurant usually when a waiter says he will take care of it that means comes to my table and takes my card for the bill. Well after waiting for some time…I finally said I was ready and got his attention. He said, “Sir, you have to come up here to pay.” I told him I had never been there and didn’t know. Well about 60% of the restaurant knew what was going on by then. So the food was amazing. Service was just so so. I would still recommend for the food. I wanna return just to try something else."

"We have heard about Famos Grill and decided today to make a trip over to Carterville and give it a try. We have surfed the menu a couple of times the past few days, and we were extremely impressed with the variety of the menu. It is a very quaint little place right on the main street with decent parking and seating. We were greeted immediately with menus and suggestions from Christeny, who only works on Saturdays and is a family member of the local owners. Our appetizer was Sicilian Bruschetta with toasted Naan bread, so delicious and simple. I ordered the Ghost Pepper Smoked Brisket Stacker on a Brioche bun, with a side of Southern Green Beans. It was so good. The meat was delicious and tender with a great smoked flavor. It was not spicy but had a great flavor. My husband ordered the Chicken Ceasar Wrap with smoked chicken and a side of slaw. The wrap was humongous and stuffed with lots of chicken and veggies. Portions were large, food was excellent, as was the service and atmosphere, plus the prices were really good. A great little hidden gem between Webb City and Carthage."

"If I were smaller I would have climbed into my “empty bowl” and licked my way out! Absolutely the best meal I’ve had there and none, I mean NONE, have ever been bad. Because I cannot eat pork, health issue, they specially prepared it for me with the exchange of pork for brisket! (Trio Plater with homemade pasta) Oh my goodness! I ate till I was full and still had at least another helping for a later meal! My fiancé had the Bella Chicken with a side of Alfredo pasta. If you are looking for a great meal, wonderful wait staff, and a great atmosphere, Famos Grill in Carterville, Mo is a must!!"

"We had a fantastic experience with wonderful food and friendly service! If you are there during peak hours, you will be waiting. So plan accordingly!! The restaurant is smaller so seating is limited, but well worth the wait. We had a group of 6 people and everyone enjoyed themselves. The staff was very friendly and helped us with our questions to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. We had fried pickles and Italian Queso Dip for starters, and both were very good. For main dishes we had chicken fried steak, bella burger, a wrap, gorgonzola roast tips, and shrimp pasta. For dessert we had a few different whipped cheesecakes. Awesome job on everything, looking forward to the next trip!"
