"The best thing was the Habey dip! It was delicious! The taco salad had very little flavor. The regular salsa needed some help. The two mixed together were good. My husband had the fajitas, said they were ok. Overall just mediocre. We need get better service towards the end of our meal."
"2.29.24 I got the fried tacos -two beef and one chicken, and corn and rice. The tacos were ok, a little greasy. The corn was good and it's not something you can really order at many places. The rice was pretty bland but ok with added salt. The salsa tasted like tomato paste watered down but the hot salsa was yum."
"1st time here. Not disappointed... not enthralled. But overall a good experience. Shining point was my server: Jess. She was polite, professional and efficient with just enough personality to make it pleasant but not intrusive. 1st let me say the food came out hot and fresh and was a superb value for the price (the 1/2 order of nachos is a whole meal!) Only 2 things to say as an informational point to others. 1. The nachos are loaded down w refried beans, even the fajita nachos which I thought was weird and ruined the texture of the dish. 2. The fajita veggies are under seasoned. Ok.. I guess there's a 3rd. The fried tacos are good but they do not let them drain long enough before pulling the toothpicks out so they are super greasy... like rolling down your arm greasy and wit quickly. The true test for me of a Mexican restaurant is the tamale, this did NOT disappoint! The masa and the filling were awesome. The Spanish rice was wonderful as well and light and fluffy... not easy to pull of w lard fried rice. All in all I would be happy to come back soon!!!"
"Habanero’s is one of the very few good Mexican restaurants on the Missouri side of KC worth going to. The restaurant is never busy. I tried the 5lb Burrito Challenge. I lost the challenge but the burrito was delicious. The burrito was always affordable for its quantity."
