"My husband and I have both gone to Dr. McAroy for several years. She’s helped me navigate teeth cleaning, cracked molars, chipped teeth, cavities, Invisalign, and more. She is a true perfectionist. She has very high standards for herself and her staff. I trust her whole heartedly. She also teaches dentistry. Highly recommend!"

"Advertises that they are good with anxious kids, but has rescheduled my kids filling appointment three times. It’s a miracle if you can get an appointment that isn’t rescheduled. Doesn’t make sense for working families. The first was rescheduled for rain, (my office was still open in the village as were the local elementary schools) the second for a power outage earlier in the day that lasted an hour , and the third was cancelled the day of a visitation. Apparently the visitation was scheduled at 7am for the same day. Advanced notice would help an anxious family. Lastly, the dental hygienists at this location do not keep sterility. After putting on gloves they touch several surfaces in between having their hands inside our mouths. Have had friends witness the same and leave this practice after giving the dentist this feedback. I tried to call and give my feedback and was hung up on by the receptionist."

"I have been going to Dr. Mc at The Village Dentist for over 10 years now. There is no one I trust as much as I trust her to care for my teeth. I started going to her in my late teens. Until then, I had avoided the dentist for 3 or 4 years because I was tired of being effectively ignored by the doctor every visit (to the point I had a visible cavity that they didn't bother to fill). Dr. Mc talked me through home care options and helped me get my teeth and gums to a consistently healthy place. When I once had a dental emergency while I was many states away from KC, she personally talked me through exactly what I needed to ask for in an emergency dentist in that area. I'm also grateful that she keeps up with advances in the field and does her best to offer a wide range of services to her patients. I had a procedure last year to correct some cosmetic damage to my teeth that I got when I was about 12 years old. It's something that my former dentist told me I would just have to live with. I finally asked Dr. Mc about it, and she said it would be an easy fix. It truly was! But I also love that she has never tried to force any procedures on me or suggested that my smile was anything but beautiful--health is her number 1 priority, and patients lead any efforts that are more cosmetic in nature. I always feel heard and cared for by her and everyone else on the staff. The Village Dentist is seriously the best place to go for your dental health needs."

"Best Dentist ever! Dr MC took care of my kiddo, husband, mom and myself for 6 years. She is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. We just moved out of state and considered flying back to Kansas when my husband had a dental emergency because we trust and adore Dr MC so deeply. She truly is one of the most knowledgeable dentists I’ve ever seen and has taken amazing care of my families teeth!"

"Absolutely trust your instincts and get a second opinion. After my last visit with Dr. McAroy, I was shocked and truthfully left in fear. I was told by her that my front teeth were ruined, that there were zero enamel remaining and they would need to essentially replace the teeth in an extensive way. Veneers were mentioned and I was just astounded. I was 31 at the time. I am now 35 and have since finally gone to see 3 other dentists but I waited for over a year because I feared the bad news. I’ve since found that not only do I not need crowns, veneers or whatever it is this dentist suggested, my teeth are fine, there’s plenty of enamel and not a single thing needs to be done. Nothing. I didn’t bring up what Dr. McAroy claimed needed to be done, I let the other dentists just do their work to find this out. Afterward, i told them this information and they all laughed or were stunned. They told me they were glad I got another opinion. It took me 3 different dentists to finally feel comfortable with those opinions and realize Dr. McAroy was wrong. I admittedly lived in fear for likely 3 years about this. I have other health conditions that take a large portion of my finances, I wasn’t aware how I would undertake something this large not to mention shaving my teeth down to nubs. I embarrassingly had tears come down my face in the chair last time I visited dr McAroy and I cried happy tears leaving my last dentist the other day confirming that my teeth are just fine. The day I transferred my records shortly after my last visit with her, dr McAroy personally called me to find out why I was leaving and she kept pushing the subject as to why-after only w couple visits to her office. I’ve wondered ever since if she knew she led me astray-or maybe she made a massive mistake, I’ll never know. I just hope dentists take their patients seriously and realize that some will get a second opinion (or third or fourth) but before they are able to, bad news weighs heavy on good people who already may be struggling."
