"From the front office staff, to the assistants, hygienists and both Dr. Stevens and Dr. Vogel, they deserve ALL the stars! Coming from someone that had a horrible experience with a dentist 5 years ago-out of fear-avoided dentistry as much as possible, they have made each visit truly as enjoyable (as going to the dentist) can be. I am always greeted with a friendly voice on the phone and in person, the assistants are very friendly and I have never had a better cleaning by a hygienist. Dr. Stevens and Dr. Vogel are very patient and gentle. Thank you for making my return to regular dental visits so easy and for giving me my smile back."

"I had not been to the dentist in two years. I will not wait that long again. Smithville Dental made it the best experience you could get from any dentist. As soon as I walked in, I received a warm welcome from the ladies upfront. I waited ten minutes at max before I was called back to a chair. Kelly, my dental hygienist, told me everything she was going to do before she did it. She explained everything. She asked me questions about my dental history and listened very intently. Her kindness, sincerity, and gentleness was incredible. I think all the women there were some of the sweetest women I have met in a long time. The cleaning went quickly with little discomfort. Patients expect to wait a long time for the doctor to come do his own check, but not here. Again, it was a super quick process. Dr. Paul was quick and too the point. I definitely recommend Smithville Dental, especially if you have had rough experiences in the past. They will change your mind and how you feel about going to the dentist."

"I randomly selected Smithville Dental from my insurance provider list. While I've never heard them recommended by anyone I knew or local social media sites, It was close and my previous long term trusted dentist stopped using my insurance. I needed insurance for an implant. When we (my last doc) left off, he said I needed a filling in addition to the implant. That's it. As background: I have steadily seen the dentist 2 times a year for the past 35 years. Brush 2 times a day, floss every day. Teeth aren't great, but I don't neglect. After some minor work from Dr. Stevens (chip in a veneer, re-cement a crown) I went for a cleaning. This nice lady did not seem to clean my teeth near to the thoroughness I'm used to (my impression). I assume that because it was short and not uncomfortable like the 70 cleanings I've had before. After the cleaning, Stevens daughter/dentist was there, poked around a little, then dropped her treatment plan on me. This was a stunner. She said I needed many crowns replaced and 6 fillings. I think there was more, but I was in shock. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I just came for a cleaning. I know that anything can be justified. I liked the old man, he seemed old school and skilled from experience. I don't know where the other dentist came from. I wanted Stevens. I asked for a copy of the plan and a rating on each thing in terms of urgency so I could plan how I was going to do this. I left 2 messages asking for this, got an answering machine both times. No call back to me. My wife eventually called and they picked up. They only said which filling I should have done first. Still haven't heard anything about the full plan in over a month. Fortunately, I have a friend who recommended his dentist, a fellow who I looked for before, but wasn't on our insurance at the time. Suddenly he was. His name came up in social media recommendations and a friend of my wife's. He did confirm some of the attention that Smithville noticed, but not anywhere near the many, many thousands of dollars of work Smithville planned for me. He explained everything, tooth by tooth. I felt much better. It will be more work than I'd like, but I feel it will be all that I need. Long story I know. I'm going with my new guy. I never believe most ratings on line, but like to see what reviews a lower than a 5 star say. Not sure what to think when everything is perfect. AND, I love to give positive feedback if I can. Bottom line: I imagine there's competency here, it is a busy place, For me, II was hoping to luck out on my random choice of Smithville Dental for a long term relationship. Indirectly, I was guided to another that I think is a better fit for me."
