Reviews of Clark Creek Natural Area
"Beautiful views! Wear comfy shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks, its a good 30-45 min hike to the first waterfall. Be prepared to walk up and down steep staircases and in some cases slide down rocks."
"Only an hour out from Baton Rouge, and 30 minutes from St. Francisville. It's a pretty small entrance with some space for parking, and it costs $2 per person, in which you need to pay via envelope and then put a paper tag in your car. Pretty good place for a hike, just make sure you have some shoes or boots with good grip. There's plenty of uphill-downhill walking with some loose gravel and gumballs, but the plants were pretty and the waterfalls fun to get to! There were rest stops along the way, as well as maps and signs, but not as many markers as I'd've liked. Got turned around a tad. Mosquitoes're definitely a-swarmin', so wear repellent!"
"It's very challenging but beautiful site and an amazing experience 20/10 definitely recommend. There are adequate maps and signage so you won't get lost. Definitely not for new hikers"
"A great nature hike with helpful signage. Plan for a 2 hour round trip up and over hilly terrain for the first 3 falls, double that if you want to see falls 4 and 5, but the waterfalls are worth the hike. Will be back again in the fall for sure."
"I’m a pretty decent hiker. I decided to hike the waterfall hike in 97 degree weather and it kicked my butt. It was however completely worth it and I can’t wait to revisit when it’s a bit cooler. I would say most people can hike fairly easily to the first 3 waterfalls and that’s worth the trip! This unfortunately is not a trail that individuals with certain mobility disabilities will feel comfortable hiking. Lots of elevation, wet rocks and obstacles to walk over."
