"My dear sweet son, Gus David Minga lll, was born with a rare skin disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa, Recessive Dystrophic Type, it is genetic (which means no one could catch it), we were desperate to find a Dr that would take him for more than an emergency one time patient, no one could really give us any positive advice because not much was know or documented at that time, someone had mentioned a Dr Freeman who might be willing to take him, but they also said that he was very good and it might be hard to get in to see him especially with the issues we were facing, but Dr Freeman told me that he didn't know much about EB, but he was certainly willing to try, Bless his Heart, this kind man was amazing, and my baby while still facing very low odds of surviving for more than the months or if we were blessed even a couple of years (the Dr who attended him after delivery told us), anyway this wonderful man, this blessing that I will always say, was a true Godsend to us he, through God's help, gave my precious son 16 years of life, I've already made this a long "letter" of praise and I apologize but I wanted everyone who reads this to know just how special this man is, he has a heart of gold, his voice, while soft spoken, was very direct, and always encouraging even if all looked lost, he never gave up on my baby, Never. I have never before or since known of a Dr coming to your home, when my son was too sick or in too much pain to go to his office, that's right he came to our house, and not only that my baby had to have blood transfusions, a lot of them, but he was so small they could only give him packed cells, and that dear man, Dr Freeman, gave my son blood out if his body, I have never heard of that before, and these are just a few of the things he did, it would fill many books if I were to put pen to paper to even begin to tell anyone how much he did not only for my son but he also took care of my 2 daughter's as well, he was always there for any of us even if we just needed to cry, he was always willing to listen, not just hear, but to really listen to us and let us know that he knew how much we were going through, and yes it wasn't just lip service, he did understand in his heart of hearts, oh I know I said thank you to him many times but I've never really Thanked Him, and if anyone reads this just please let me say that I love this man with my whole heart, not just from the bottom or even the top, no I love him with my whole heart and want to thank him for his devotion and love that he openly showed and freely gave to our entire family, I know when our precious and gracious Lord God above calls him home, I believe that his Crown will be a lot larger and brighter than most others because he gave so much of himself to not only our family but to each and every child he ever came in contact with, he is, in my humble opinion, one if the most giving and special people I have ever known in my lifetime. His humility, his love and caring I have rarely seen matched in my now almost 60 years, so if you are fortunate enough to get Dr Erwyn Freeman as your child's pediatrician trust me you will not be disappointed, he is a great Christian man first and that's what I think makes him a great Christian Dr and if you see him please tell him hello for me and how very much me and all of my family appreciate all he did for us, thanks for reading this mini "book", sorry I got so long winded but I just could not say, even with this long review (and I've only scratched the surface), how much he has done for us, we are forever grateful. And also I would like to say a special thank you to Dr Freeman's nurse, Julie, who was the best at giving shots to my children, but especially to my little boy, I know by the tears you have shed on so many occasions that it hurt you, but you were so gentle that it made it a little more bearable and to all the other DR's and nurses and all the staff, for all the smiles and care and concern, With gratitude and respect and so much love, Thank you.
