"Zero stars isn't available. During the first few minutes of my first and LAST visit Xiao states that he doesn't have much experience with my type of cancer and that I am welcome to go back to my previous Oncologist. VERY WELCOMING INDEED. We'll he accepted me as a new patient. I talked with staff after this visit about labs and my cancer injection. They wanted to add an additional FOLLOW-UP appointment. I told them that I didn't do FOLLOW-UP appointments unless they were absolutely necessary. They stated "well, we do FOLLOW-UP appointments". YUCK. I'm not here to help fill a doctor's schedule book. I've never done a single FOLLOW-UP appointment with any other Oncologist in the past 5 years after labs and my cancer injection. This FOLLOW-UP appointment was NOT needed. This is an extra expense for the patient and an extra unnecessary trip that stage 4 cancer patients don't like to make. Many days later I went to infusion for my cancer injection. When I got there the infusion staff told me that Xiao's team had canceled my appointment just two hours before my scheduled injection! My insurance hadn't gone through. They waited until the last minute to check on my insurance status. They had PLENTY of time (days) to check on this beforehand. Staff should do interim checks regarding important issues like this instead of waiting until the last minute. They should have called me to informed me of the cancelation. Instead I get a message on the Ochsner portal. I don't check the portal every single day, especially on the day of an appointment. Stage 4 cancer patients don't like to make unnecessary trips. I terminated my relationship with this team for many reasons. YUCK."

"Dr. Xiao is the only oncologist I’ve ever encountered, and understandably I was nervous having to see him, BUT he made it so easy. He’s straightforward but he listens, answers questions and respects your opinions even when he has to disagree. I like him and think you will too."

He also knows all my other medical issues and sets up all additional visits that are needed for my health. He works diligently with all my Ochsner Physicians to make sure I’m getting excellent medical advice and care!"

"Dr. Xiao has such a wonderful bedside manor. He’s extremely personable and takes time with his patients. My mom has dementia so I or my aunt accompany her on her appointments. I told his nurse what a wonderful doctor but I really hope I never have to see him personally. I was just so relieved when I met him. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. He answers all of your questions and really listen to his patients. I think we’re missing that piece. It seems as though offices are so hurry to get you in to bill the insurance they don’t listen but definitely not him. Just so friendly and patient."
