"Sweet folks, especially Ms. P, but I had a terrible tax experience! The staff does not provide assurance that they know anything about tax laws or filing. Extremely uncomfortable working with them. I have been filing independently or with other tax professionals & this was the first year that I would owe any money...alway received a return. Ms. P did not know why ....no clue. "I plugged in the #'s, but ......". I ended up walking out ....should have stuck with my gut and went somewhere else! Suggest avoiding this office at all cost... or do it online yourself....probably get better results!!!"

"We had our taxes prepared by Ms. Carolyn Burch and had the absolute worst experience working with her. She made several clerical errors while initially typing in our information that I had to correct her on and could not figure out how to use her software to file multiple state returns. She had us leave and said she would call us to come back when she figured out the issue. 3 weeks went by and she never called. I called twice and got no response, had my husband call and he also got no response. I resorted to showing up in the office one afternoon to see what the problem was. Once I was there she took me as a walk in and finally filed our state returns but completely wrong. When I got home and reviewed them, I noticed several errors and made an appointment again to discuss what i found. She claimed that the error didn't matter and that if it was fixed, the return would be exactly the same and then followed to advise us that as long as the states didn't catch the mistakes, we would be fine. UMM HELLO? Advice to commit tax FRAUD because she's not the one going to get audited!!! I stood my ground and said i wanted it corrected whether the refund amount went up, down, or stayed the same. She said she would "do some research" to see how to proceed with fixing the errors and call me back early the next week. Early the next week goes by and we never heard from her. On Wednesday I called to check on the status and was told by the lady who answered the phone she would check on it. Lady who answered the phone called back and said Ms. Burch said she had already fixed the issue, to which I responded that she hadn't. I was assured that the issue would get resolved Wednesday night and I would get a call first thing Thursday morning. I never received a call so I called back again mid afternoon, followed bymy husband calling late afternoon. Neither of us got a response. I called again that night and told the receptionist that I had not gotten any promised calls back and that I needed this issue resolved. I was transferred directly to Ms. Burch who asked AGAIN what the issue was and I explained it to her and she acted like she wasn't going to do anything about it until I stayed on the phone and finally she agreed to amend the return. I asked if I could pick it up on Friday afternoon to which she responded yes. I went in Friday afternoon to pick up the return which had been amended but was still incorrect. As we were already there, we asked if we could get it amended then. She was working with a customer at the time, which I completely understand but when the receptionist called Ms. Burch's desk to tell her there was an issue on the amended return, Ms. Burch loudly yelled "Well ask them what on earth it could be now!?" which everyone in the office heard. A few minutes later we were asking the receptionist and another preparer for clarification about something and Ms. Burch came out of her office and assumed we were talking about something completely different and made a point to again loudly yell across the office "I told them that *blah blah blah blah*" which wasn't even what we were asking about. Very inappropriate and unprofessional. What does this lady have 40 years of experience in? I know it isn't customer service, surely not taxes. Lying on a resume must be easy. We were sent home yet again with another follow up appointment. Further, the corrections needed ended up giving us a larger return which she had initially claimed we would not get. I cannot say enough how dissatisfied we are with the service received at HR block by Ms. Burch. Everyone else at the facility has been great in trying to help us resolve this but unfortunately Ms. Burch is the only one "certified" to work on multi state taxes and so we have been stuck with her. Please do not use her as your tax preparer and if you have, check your documents for errors. HR Block, please reconsider your employment agreement with Ms. Burch."
