"Back around 0ct. 5th 2023, I spent 5 hours working on a travel trailer loan with Pelican on Gause.l Blvd, Slidell. My credit score was 740, my income was right. They claim to loan 110% on this type of collateral. After 5 hours they wanted $4500 down payment, because they said the purchasing camper was only worth $23,000 . They had the vin number. Funny thing, progressive insurance said they would pay 27, 250, if it was totaled after I bought it. Ever heard of an insurance company over paying on a vehicle/ camper? That is why they sell gap insurance. I went up the road to kessler at 4:30 pm after sitting all day At pelican and walked out the door before 5 pm with a check for $26,250 I put $2000 down with this check. I am 61 years old and I feel like the only reason they turned me down on the loan was because of my age. It was going to be an 8 year loan. Like to talk to real people in person at the teller desk? Forget it, at this location the people you are forced to deal with for banking transactions is in Baton Rouge, la. You have to use a screen and fancy ATM. This is a Very useless business. I won't hurt myself, so I do use them as a secondary credit card because they have the second best interest rates in my card collection. KESSLER FCU has the best credit card interest rates. In my collection."
