"Uncle Sam's Moving Corp moved my household from Metairie to Covington in October 2023. The packing personnel were polite, thorough and took great care with my belongings. The young men who did the moving were exceptional and easy to work with. It took more than one day because of the amount of contents in house, garage, and shed. They did not complain when I did a little rearranging and were happy to assist. All employees working at the old house and my new home were hard workers. I highly recommend Uncle Sam's Moving Corp. "On August 8, 2023, Michael Smith of Uncle Sam's Moving Corps came to my apartment to discuss moving me and my family's furniture and personal property from Covington, LA to New Orleans, LA. He quoted a price of $3,600 for the complete move and insisted on being paid upfront via Venmo. In return, he would provide 6 men and 2 trucks who would move the contents one 1150 square foot apartment, two 10x25' storage units and one 10x10' storage unit all in one day. We paid the agreed upon $3600 in 2 payments and a moving day and time of 9 am on August 12, 2023. At 12:45 pm on August 12, 2023, one truck and four men arrived to begin the move. We were told one truck was sent to move someone else to Carencro, LA and the truck they sent to us had broken down and they had to rent a truck. They loaded half the contents of the apartment and delivered them to the New Orleans address that day. The truck was less than half full. On August 16th, a second load of furniture from the apartment and some boxes from the 10x10' storage unit were packed into a truck. They started late due to a broken truck (2nd). We were informed by the movers at 4 pm that it was late in the day and they we're finished for the day and they would deliver what they had loaded, which again was a less than half full truck, the following day. The third and last failed attempt to complete the move occurred on August 21, 2023. They loaded some of the contents of the two 10x25' units, but another half full truck. After this third failure to complete the job, Michael Smith became increasingly difficult to get to obtain a response from. I threatened him with legal action, he did begin answering the phone, briefly, he promised he hadn't forgotten about us and that he was going to complete the job and/or issue us a refund, neither ever materialized. On December 12, 2023, I hired another mover who completed the job. I paid him $3900."
"Occasionally we are fortunate enough to be helped by competent, caring people. On our recent move, Uncle Sam’s Moving Corps proved to be one of those service companies. The staff, from the owner to the receptionist to the movers themselves, are a most dedicated group of personable and professional individuals who clearly want to do their jobs to make your move easier. This group are, individually and collectively, wonderful stewards for this company. We deeply appreciate the responsiveness, the skilled and adept and caring ways the men moved us, the overall thoroughness with which they completed our move. It is with much pleasure that our family highlyand strongly recommends Uncle Sam’s Moving Corps."
"Chelsea and the entire crew were great! I loved the firm price upfront as there were no surprises. When moving day arrived the crew worked hard, quick and efficiently. My items were handled with care and everything made it from one location to the next in perfect condition. I appreciate the hard work and positive attitudes. I will definitely be a repeat customer when moving in the future. Thanks Uncle Sam’s Moving Corps."
"NEVER NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. Broke promises. Showed up late, requiring work into 10:00 pm. Movers took as many breaks as work time. Boxes packed by movers were not labelled. My packed, color-coded, labelled boxes were placed in wrong rooms, on wrong floors. Movers broke Waterford decanter, Capodimonte vase, decorative glass, turntable, and three bookcases. Owner reduced total price because of incompetence BEFORE all damage was assessed. I paid only on agreement of receipt of claims form for damages. After submitting the form, owner refuses to compensate. NEVER NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. INCOMPETENT AND DISHONEST. WOULRATE A 0 IF POSSIBLE"
