"Had an appointment with Dr. steen yesterday.. wait time was short. Staff were very kind. Dr. steen came into the room and my problems were her number one focus…. Full eye contact! I WAS NOT RUSHED AT ALL!! She also set me up for other test she wanted me to have done.. appointment card was handed to me with out asking.. I will keep her for my GYN. No other can match the quality of her and her staffs care!!!!"
"I regret not switching sooner. Dr. Steen barely acknowledged my existence. She was in and out of the room so fast and walked out on my multiple visits before I could even ask a question. I would wait 30-40minutes in the waiting room just to be rushed out. The front desk staff and the checkout/billing staff were absolute garbage. VERY rude and gave horrible attitude when I tried to be nothing but nice. I asked if I could have my appointment written down for me, and was coldly told that they would send me a text. I calmly and shyly replied that I would still like it written down. I got a huff and an agitated response and she passive aggressively wrote it on a business card and slapped it onto the table in front of me. Absolutely uncalled for. Don’t get me started on trying to get paperwork from them to switch and trying to get an itemized receipt? Forget about it. I switched to Dr. Swiger and oh my god the entire staff and him are just so excellent."
"Dr. Steen is the most knowledgeable and personable gynecologist I’ve encountered. She took time to explain every detail of my troubles to me. At no point did she find my plethora of worrisome questions annoying or repetitive. Her experience comes through in simple conversation, and there is nothing more comforting. No one in her office made me feel the least bit uneasy. There is a nurse practitioner here, Crystal, who went complete out of her way to be sure I understood everything happening in my body—far beyond anything required by her. She was busy, but not too busy to make time to answer every concern I had. She truly wanted to be sure I was taken care of. I would recommend this OBGYN and her staff over any of the others I’ve encountered in Covington. The ultrasound technician was also wonderful and extremely gently. Very pleased with the care provided."
"I’m not the type to leave reviews on anything, particularly bad reviews. But my experience was so traumatizing, I feel like I have to let others know. Dr. Steen was extremely rude during my examination. There was absolutely no consideration for my feelings whatsoever. She tossed around a lot of angry, sassy remarks. I won’t repeat them but they were extremely rude. WHILE I was in excruciating pain. She was barking at me the entire time. It really felt like she hated me. I also feel like she was too rough. She didn’t give me a moment to calm down or talk me through the pain. ZERO bedside manners. The entire experience felt like borderline torture. A doctor should NEVER treat their patient in this way, not even close, under any circumstance. Never again."
"If I could give them no stars at all, I would. I have never been to a gynecologist that's as irresponsible as this one. Dr. Vicki, I think, is a good doctor, but the rest of her staff lacks communication and doesn't care about their patient's well-being. Whenever I go to the clinic for a visit, I would always ask for the prices of the visit before confirming the appointment, but for some reason, they always send me invoices asking me to pay more when I've already paid upfront. When I call in to ask about why I'm receiving a bill for the service I already paid for, they would say, oh we did this service because your case was more difficult, and we were just trying to do everything we can to ensure your health is well. Well do they really care about my well being?! I think not! I ended receiving bills adding up to an extra $800-900 dollars for services I didn't request for. I'm paying for services the nurses ordered, just because they think I need it. They never consulted with me that it's a separate service, and it will be an extra charge. They didn't even ask for my consent for the services performed. I've been to other gynecologist, doctors, and other medical clinics, and the staffs always ask for consent before they treat their patients or run tests on them. However, at Dr. Vicki's office , they said consent is not needed. Um..I thought one of the greatest things about America is because we have the right to consent? In addition to being billed for services I didn't ask for, when I called to speak to Nicki, the billing department, she blames me for not knowing that the service they performed isn't part of what I scheduled for. I mean, how should a patient, new to the clinic, know what service is included in what? I'm simply basing the services off of other gynecologists I've visited. If I knew all of the things she expected me to know, I'd be psychic and probably take over her job. She offered no sincere apology at all and blames the patient for not being competent enough asking if a service is extra when the whole appointment was about that one issue. Why should a patient be bothered by those kinds of unnecessary worries? Shouldn't the clinic hint at or inform their patients that this or that service won't be included in the amount that was paid for? I felt totally scammed and more mistreated than any clinic I've visited. Besides my own experience, everyone who has visited them apparently suffered their long wait time. Every time I go for my appointment (which has only been twice) I have to wait for at least an hour before I get to see the nurse. If anyone is considering them, make sure to go ahead and make no plans for at least half of the day. Also, make sure to ask if every little thing they do is a separate charge if you are self-paying. Otherwise do expect an unexpected invoice coming your way in about two weeks."
