Reviews
"These museums were fantastic! They have just the right amount of artifacts and videos to rest your feet while still learning. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. If you can come in a Sunday there is free admission to both museums and parking should not be a problem as Jackson is very quiet in the morning. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a small snack or visit the cafe in order to keep up your energy to see both museums thoroughly."
"Absolutely FANTASTIC museums! They are so gorgeous and well maintained. The history is mesmerizing. I think it should be mandatory for all schools to bring their kids here to give them a proper education of our history!"
"Very nice experience. These are sizable museums. I spent 3.5 hours here, but I also tend to read all of the information. I would think folks should plan on about 2 hours minimum, unless you just plan to blow through the displays. The Civil Rights museum takes about twice as long to see as the History Museum. I really appreciated the Civil Rights Museum in that it presented the history very fairly. It showed the terrible abuse, but also the struggles, the victories and the heroes. I saw the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, AL, which only focused on the victimhood and nothing more. It was a really lopsided presentation, but this one is much more balanced. They also have several side rooms where you can see the more graphic side of the struggle if you can take it (and feel it is age appropriate for families). Bravo. Well done. For the price, you really get to see a lot. Highly recommended."
"Thought we were going to a simple museum only to discover you could spend a day or two. The exhibits are all high quality and so are the movies. A great learning experience for everyone."
