"I don’t go to the school in Raymond I go to a different campus. The financial aid counselor has a weird schedule at my home campus so, I usually just talk and fax things over to Raymond. Just because it’s more for convenient for me.. When it comes to financial aid, you have to be careful who you speak with. Some of them are not experienced, I would assume. I was told I owed thousands of dollars. Then I called the business office and was told that’s untrue. She told me that I needed to speak to someone different. So I call again and I speak to someone else and they figure everything out. I actually didn’t owe anything.. I just had to turn in certain documents. PLEASE be careful who you speak with… I still have issues with some people I speak with over the phone. I just don’t think I should have to speak to 5 different people to figure out my financial situations. That alone is extremely stressful. I guess I’ll stick with my home campus.."
"The Sharon lady who worked there was so rude and disrespectful to me for no reason. She made me want to cuss her out. I tried my best to be kind and professional with her but she got a ugly attitude. I hate this college."
"I withdrew after two months of being here. I called the financial aid office or wherever they directed me to so that I could get a loan breakdown on why my pell grant didn’t cover two months of school and also why I’m repaying a $1600 loan. FOR TWO MONTHS OF SCHOOL?!?! Anyways.. fafsa told me they are legally obligated to give me a breakdown of this. Instead of them doing so she decides to belittle me and act like i’m a child? She also told me only the loan servicer could do that (when i know that’s false since i called the loan servicer and fafsa and they both told me the same thing). The rudest lady on earth and quite possibly the worst person for the job she has. This was my first time attending Hinds but I should have never strayed away from Holmes. Please go there if you want to save money and have staff that cares about you."
"The worst school to go to period they take all your money from you when you work through them to keep money in your pocket. They charge you if you go through a emergency exit even though they didn’t do their job to make sure you have a way in the building at night. They make excuses as to why they can’t do something everytime you ask. Their are only a few helpful people here. There’s never anyone here understanding. Everyone is lazy here I 100% don’t recommend Hinds Community College"
"Teachers and staff are amazing! The kids are mostly "Good Southern kids"; especially if you stay around with the right sort of people. Courses aren't too difficult, and not too easy. I would recommend joining the Honors Program and Phi Theta Kappa if you can as it helps financially with scholarships and with real valuable life experiences. It also looks good on a resume when applying for a 4-year school or a job. Overall, becoming a student at Hinds Community College has been a great learning experience for me as I begin to understand the world around me."
