Honey Island Kayak Tours

"3 Guides, 4 Guests, Rolls-Royce Service: We had the great good fortune to book the very first Honey Island Kayak Tours tour of the season. Veteran guide Nick was showing two other guides, River and Stephanie, the route paddling off the Pearl River and into a labyrinth of five convoluted waterways traversing the swamps. Nick is a friendly, low-key, extremely knowledgeable guide teaching us about the swamps foundation trees, the Tupolos and the Bald Cypress. He put us on look out for the various types of woodpeckers knocking their heads out above us, and dropped other nuggets of wisdom such as the oldest dated cypress is 3,600 years old, the largest in the area has a circumference of 56' and so forth. River and Stephanie added in all sorts of local lore. Stephanie taught my daughter how to turn the kayak on a dime from the front paddling position. It was an absolutely fabulous 2 hours and 20 minutes spend in the swamp. Great guides, comfortable kayaks, very reasonable price."
