Counseling Center

"When I first called to set up my initial appointment, I wasn't asked which gender I'd prefer as my counselor. I wasn't told who my counselor would be so for days, I was anxious if it was a guy or girl. I tried looking on their website because I assumed there was only one counselor. Their website doesn't have much information at all. Just one other page than the homepage that has the directions. Then I checked out their Facebook and the website listed is one to a chiropractic office. I called the day of to ask for a female counselor because I was close to a panic attack. I wanted to know who the counselor was but there were no names, no nothing on their site to see they experience history. I went in to their office and was immediately taken back to the psychologist's office. It was a very small office that had a small desk and we sat across from each other. No sofas, comfortable chairs, pillows, or ambient lighting. She went over my packet which made me lose 20 of my 50 minutes. I ended up only going to 3 sessions. I couldn't handle being interrupted frequently then asked the same questions that were answered in previous sessions; most she'd written down already. She asked and pushed for very personal details and questions that I was clearly uncomfortable answering or repeating. I just couldn't get a connection with her. 10 sessions were covered by my EAP and it just wasn't worth continuing. Receptionist answered emails back with unprofessional pink Comic Sans font and grammatical errors which was a red flag. The packet I had to fill out was incredibly long as well. Yes they were nice but this added more stress to my situation so I ended up switching to another office."
