"Fun, historic, attention to detail. Great place to stay if you appreciate old buildings and quirky furnishings. They provided a fan to help circulate the AC, so if you can give grace to an upstairs room in a very old building with tall ceilings, you will enjoy the change from boring chain hotels on the highway. One note-if you arrive after 5 and pick up your own key, there is a certain ghost town vibe to Main Street that might be unsettling. We didn’t see another living soul from 7 pm until the next morning as we left town. No fault of the hotel, just a heads up. After-hours caretaker was available and helpful via text. A fire station is directly behind the hotel with lights on all night so it felt very safe."
"My husband and I stayed here as a stop on our drive to New Orleans. The owners and staff were very accommodating and friendly. The hotel is in a historic old building. We found our room to be charming and very clean. Yahzoo city is going through a main street revitalizing but still found some spots on main street to eat and shop. Definitely recommend staying here if traveling through"
"It all depends on what you are looking for. Some may rate The Main Street Hotel to be 5 stars; some will rate much lower. If you like eclectic rooms, furnishings, nostalgia, and home comfort, you'll really appreciate it. If you prefer modern rooms and bathroom fixtures, you would rate it less. ALL of the 14 suites are refurbished and modernized from older rooms and offices. Downtown Yazoo City was a thriving area several decades ago. The hotel is reminiscent of that past. You should speak directly with the hotel office to ensure that your room will have the accessibility that you desire. Some second floor suites have narrow, fairly steep staircases."
"Absolutely loved our room, super cute loved the clawfoot tub. We recommend this place to all of our friends and family. If you want the feel of an old wild west hotel stay here!!!"
"Colorful on the outside, funky, creative remodel on the inside, but I don't know how this even merits two stars because my room has no windows and no hot water. The woman who runs the place is charming, but for some reason had us access our rooms from the sketchy alley. A rickety stair leads up to the second floor where there is a door that opens into a hallway, except to get into the hallway you have to squeeze into the alcove next to the first room, close the door, then walk around (the door should be rehung to swing the other way). When we arrived, the hallway was sweltering. An exhaust fan whirred mightily trying to suck the hot air out, but there was little wonder at why it was so hot in the hallway when I discovered that each room's air-conditioning unit vented into the hallway! Four (or more?) air-conditioning units pumping hot air into the hotel corridor is bizarre at best, and I wonder how it possibly meets building code?! The good news is that they did keep the rooms cool. So, back to the access: it turned out there is a stair at the front which leads right down to Main Street where there is plenty of parking. Once I discovered that, I parked on Main Street and came in through the front of the building where the stairs are much easier to use."
