Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cleveland, an IHG Hotel

"Just a nasty, unsanitary Hotel that’s not befitting of carrying the Holiday Inn name. This chain should really re-evaluate the quality they are offering the paying public. Went to this location in Cleveland, Mississippi and it was horrible, a nightmare. Exterior is poorly kept, lobby was dirty with trash on the floor. Elevators were dirty and stains from spilled liquid were present all inside the elevator. The furniture in the room was from the 70’s, old and dilapidated. The bathroom had mold around the tub and the tub was dirty, I mean dirty. Stained and soiled curtains from a leak that obviously went unattended. Just take a look at these curtains in the attached photos. This was so disgusting and repulsive that I left and booked at stay at a nearby hotel. Avoid this place."

"While staying here I get woke up at 1am by my boyfriend talking about the lady at the front won’t let him in. I called down to the front desk and told her what room he was coming to and she stated I had to come down and get him. Never have I ever had to do this when I stay here and I have stayed here several times before and never had this problem. Mind you I was sleep and not feeling well. After talking to me she still didn’t let him in and until about 5 minutes later. I went down and talked to a lady in a pink shirt the next day and she was shocked the door was late. I then asked what going on because the girl the night before 12/27 stated on the phone for her safety she could not let him in, which got me to ask what is going on at the hotel that is a safety issue? The lady in pink stated nothing and it is quiet here and all the time I have stayed it has been quiet. So the next night on 12/28 I come into the hotel and told the little girl that was there the night before that if she is that scared she might need to get another job. Plus I told her that is was a fire hazard to have doors locked and not that the posted or stated anywhere. The door never been locked when I stayed before and I have came in late. She stated all the hotels she worked at she lock the doors and I told her she need to know the law. She also stated that all guest have to be on the reservation. I asked where is that stated or posted because I don’t know who might come visit me and I recorded her saying that. It seems she makes laws and rules for the hotel that is not posted or listed on website. I did not pay to stay and be the door personnel at the hotel. Plus keep saying for her safety raise red flags for customers because is it not safe or what. I really want someone to contact me but to whoever looking to stay here just beware of weird rules that one person is doing. I’m normally a chill person and give the benefit of doubt but she needs to be trained right because she breaking rules and nobody wants to get woken up for crazy stuff. He don’t have to come in when I do as long as the money is paid. I’m in the room so he didn’t need the key because I can let him in the room. Might be my last time staying here."

"Great people, great service, rooms are in desperate need of updating. The carpet on the 2nd floor hallway smells pretty bad. Definitely need to pull it out and replace it."

"We usually stay at the Hampton Inn in Cleveland which has been a wonderful experience but they were booked so we booked the Holiday Inn Express in Cleveland. Never again...! The first room we got had a baby roach in the bathroom and was dirty. The furniture is worn out and damaged. The 2nd room we were shown was dirty. At 1:30am when we arrived he were finally given a 3rd room which was semi clean but not well maintained. The paint/plaster was cracking off in the bathroom. The only positive was that the pillows were comfy. The phone in the room had a layer of dirt/dust from not being wiped down. The breakfast wasn't that great either. The eggs were soft and the options were limited. The staff was very friendly and accommodating but when I mentioned the baby roach they didn't even ask to see because they probably already knew the hotel had issues. Luckily we were only there 2 nights but we will never book there again!"
