"I came in Dec.19th, for an appt I was given with Brooke. This was my first time using BATA Beauty's hair salon, and I was excited for my first hair appt in over 4 years. My long dark blonde hair is nearly down to my beltline and was completely virgin at this point. I requested "bright, not white" blonde balayage and a Brazilian blowout. Both of which I've never had. She suggested a money piece around my face, and I agreed. The balayage looks great and the Brazilian blowout is lovely (painful for a tender head but no actual complaints, there) I didn't even complain when we realized that upon applying the "money piece" around my face that she used a platinum tone and happened to completely miss my widows peak, I mentioned how dramatic my hairline was before the process and was sadened by the mistakes yet understood when she informed me that due to the blowout that we'd have to wait at least 2 wks before she could process the correction. With Christmas days away and family photos to come, I was bummed out, but forgiving and tipped her accordingly for her time spent working on my long, full head of hair late into the evening. In the meantime, I had to be creative, hiding the mistake with hats, headbands and forward blowdrying. Fast forward to Jan 11th when I was scheduled for my correction. I tell her that not only my widows peak needs its correction but upon putting my hair up in a ponytail I noticed the money pieces don't meet up or blend with the rest of my hair tone, (it was WHITE bright and not what I originally asked for) and requested that she add to the dark voided area between with something that matched closer, "Maybe a couple of foils so that I don't have two bright streaks when it's up." She obliged. The color turned out closer to what I originally asked for, and I was pleased. She asked if I wanted my hair straightened or curled this time, I said curled, sure! At this point, I'm under the impression that it's industry standard to send me off with corrected hair in the same spirits they'd originally intended to because I had yet to be informed I would owe anything for this appointment. After 2 hours in the chair, she finished the correction and told me that the front desk would take care of me, It confused me, but when I turn around she was gone, never to be seen again. The front desk girl spins the computer around to show me that I owed $150. I said, "I'm sorry. I think there has been a mistake, I'm here for a correction." To which she goes to the back to fetch the owner. He does his best to understand what's happening as I explain it to him, then tells me he'll BRB, I assume to the back to talk to Brooke since she's not willing to talk to me herself, idk? I wait again for a resolution. He returns, insisting that I at least pay for the products used, amounting to only $32. IT IS AWKWARD! I am now in complete fight or flight but pay the $32 just to get the hell outta there before I burst into tears. I do not tip this time. I've given myself a week to calm my nerves, but I'm still in shock. I spent more on this hair appointment than I have ever in my life!! Between the blowout, my highlights, and sitting in the chair for 5 hours, it came to something like $657, added a tip I felt was more than fair, while not expecting to pay for the actual correction to come I give her $100. Now add 2 hours for correction time and the $32 they insisted I pay. That's $800, 7 hrs sitting, and over 2+ weeks of patience. I should have asked for money BACK! I will not be returning and have a hard time even getting excited when I look in the mirror now, reminded every time I do. This should have been her learning experience and between employer and employee, not customer. I didn't come in asking for something completely different, or I would have understood the charge. It doesn't help that I recently got my first facial treatment from their aesthetician Pam and absolutely loved her and planned on purchasing BATA's monthly facial plan even though I live all the way in Brandon. Sorry Pam, I just can't now. I am disheartened"
"I was super nervous about switching stylists after seeing someone out of town for years. Markanne was hilarious, knowledgeable, and talented! It was important to me to find someone who valued the integrity and health of the hair AND the look! The salon environment is safe and comfortable and the entire crew was wonderful. 10/10. Worth the money every time!"

I came in with an awful colored hair job previously done at another salon and they completely accepted me with open arms and even got me in the day I called! Mia is outstanding and is the sweetest!!
