"So overall this place should be a solid 4 or 4.5. Great bar with good beer selection. TVs everywhere. Seriously everywhere…even in the bathroom. Food was surprisingly good for a sports bar type of place, though the gumbo was heavy on the salt. Service was also great. It loses 1.5 stars for the bathrooms. Women’s had no TP and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks (per my wife). Men’s smelled worse than a port-o-let and had more gnats. Seriously…so many gnats I thought I would spill my beer while trying to go and swat them away! Ok, so I didn’t really have my beer in there, but truly there were tons of gnats. Drew, you should see it. You’re retired now, surely you can come grab a mop and help them out. This place is otherwise well worth a trip. Just hold it till you get home."
"I've eaten here a few times before. Usually I get a burger. This last visit I was craving a shrimp poboy. I was still craving a shrimp poboy when I left. I wasn't expecting a poboy overflowing with shrimp, but for a "large" poboy, I was expecting more than 8 shrimp. And the "large" poboy that I was brought is the size of a half poboy at most other places. Could have used either more tomato slices, or larger tomatoes overall, and some more shredded lettuce. The waffle fries that came with it were overcooked. Too crispy. To the point that they almost hurt to eat. I've learned my lesson. When going to a sports bar, order a burger or wings. Go to a seafood restaurant if you want a shrimp poboy. The iced tea was good. ***edit to add the following*** I submitted my info as requested below in Walk On's reply to my review. That was 2 weeks ago. Have yet to have anyone contact me."
"Madison K was amazing and did amazing. From extra napkins to just talking about the menu. We appreciate easy but attentive service. The boom boom shrimp is a must of course to start with. Then the gumbo is a classic that they followed the old recipes to keep it perfect! The adult grilled cheese made me so happy! Lots of bacon and thick so I fed those to my boyfriend lol but it was still amazing. The side of marinara gave you the wholesome taste you expect with tomato soup so you didn’t miss it. Hushpuppies were sweet but I enjoyed the corn taste with the seasonings. Overall great time and the beer is cold too!! Love love thank you for giving us a place we appreciate spending money!"
"Dined here at around 3:00 pm on a Saturday. Hardly anybody was dining there. Hadn’t been there since pre-COVID. Service was as bad as it always is. Took forever for a waitress to come to our table. Then I ordered a drink and, since we were seated in front of the bar, I could tell the bartender was never aware of the bar order. Then our waitress told us someone else took my drink? Our entrees, which were just a Caesar salad and pulled pork sandwich, took a good hour to come out when there was no one in the place. Lame, lame service. I can see why we never come here and don’t plan to be back again. Not sure what the problem is but this Covington location has always been bad since I first dined here in 2017."
"Had dinner with friends. I had the Red Fish Rudy with the Louisiana Street Corn, which was delicious. My husband had the Salmon with broccoli and green beans, and the Salmon was perfection. My friend had the Mahi Mango with the Louisiana Street corn, and her boyfriend had the Tuscan Chicken that he said was very tasty. Our server was magnificent, she was friendly and attentive."
