"Just a little country store"
"More on the prejudice side bur it's the only local store within miles of our house. Prices are ridiculously high. But everybody know just about everyone around the area. They do have a nice bar area."
"They sell beer on Sunday. Not all hero's wear capes."
"Normally, I have pleasant transactions at this place, but yesterday was a total and complete travesty! After giving this place my business, as a stop through on my way to church in Jefferson County, MS, from Hinds County, MS, I bought things and used their restroom without so much as an incident! Yesterday, 9/17/17, I wasn't so fortunate! I entered and looked into thei hot food bar for some potato logs and noticed the ones they had were different from their usual. Usually when I go there is a clerk who's very pleasant, even compliments me on my attire. Not yesterday! As I began to ask specifically for certain potato logs (4), as the ones that were being picked weren't to my liking, they were dry looking, I was taken aback, shocked even, at how nasty and vicious the female clerk, not the same nice one that usually is there, became with me. She began to yell. "Look, you're only paying a dollar for 2 and I have the right to refuse service to anyone ma'am!" I was so taken aback by this most unprofessional behavior, until I simply found myself apologizing for pestering her by spending my hard earned money with her. I then told her after she bagged the potato logs and laid my change down on the counter, that I hoped she would have a better day. To that, she smarted off again, "Oh, I'm having a good day!" I started to keep it up with her, but simply decided that from then on, I would get whatever I needed in Hazelhurst and would not step foot in this store again. I have church members and friends up and down HWY 28, I'll be letting them know about my experience as well. You don't talk to another adult like they are beneath you or scold them in public like hey are a child, no matter what your problems or issues are! Get it together. While I won't be back, I would NOT want anyone to endure what I did. I DO NOT pay to be mistreated."
