"I hit a deer at night, damaging the front drivers side of my car. Needed a new hood/headlight/ fender/bumper cover and half of the 2 piece grill. My insurance estimated $6,900 to repair and gave me the ok to get it fixed at the shop of my choice. I went to desoto collision center in oxford and was given a booking for March 15th (5 weeks wait). I drove my 2014 mkz there on March 15th and handed over the key. Estimated repair time 10 days, went from DCC to enterprise, and picked up a rental car. Communication from DCC was sporadic and usually initiated by me emailing for updates. They had my car for just over 7 WEEKS , upped the repair cost with "supplementary" claims to almost $10,000 and when I finally collected the car on my way to work I had to pay them my $250 deductible before they released the car to me. I drove straight to work in Memphis, and it was dark when I got off work, so I instantly noticed that my headlights were way off the correct aim. New headlight high old headlight low. The next morning , in daylight, I decided to see if a simple adjustment would correct the aim of my headlights. When I opened the hood, the first thing I noticed was a yellow chalked ID number from a junk yard on the "new" headlight! Then I noticed the "new" hood was also USED and repainted! It is also missing its insulator pad and front weather strip, rubber bump stops and ALL the clips, etc, that should have held the pad and weather strip in place. Also noticed that a dust cap was missing from an A/C service valve, positive terminal insulator was slid down the battery cable and the whole engine bay looks like the car was parked outside with no hood while a mower blew a dust storm over it. By now, I was pretty mad that a "reputable" body shop would release a vehicle in such a state!. I closed the hood and took my first hard look at the repair job. The "new" hood is aligned so badly that it is rubbing the paint off the passenger fender front corner. The panel gaps are terrible all around the hood/bumper cover and fenders. Most of the plastic rivets that hold the drivers wheel well splash guard in place are missing completely! All 4 wheels lost the valve caps, and the tire pressures read from 28psi down to 10psi (they were all at the correct 36psi the morning I delivered the car to DCC) There is also a new chip on the top of the passenger front fender that was not there before (guessing the "new" hood or a tool was dropped on it). So in short, they took over 7 weeks for a 10 day repair, used junk yard parts and charged almost $10k only to deliver a VERY poorly repaired car and had the nerve to require me to pay the $250 deductible before giving it back to me (on top of the almost $300 I had to pay for excess car rental due to the length of time DCC had my car). Personally speaking, I would STRONGLY advise anyone against using this shop.myself My family will NEVER use them again!"
