Reviews
"So very interesting. I grew up going here with my family and was always fascinated by all of the curiosities from bygone days. And of course Jake the alligator man, my friend got to see all this for the first time, and it was fun watching his reactions. You really need to check it out if you're in Long Beach or you're missing out. And then there's the romance meter chair. That was fun..."
"Cool place with lots of historical things to view as well as sideshow type attractions you'd expect at a carnival from yesteryear. Jake the Alligator Man, a stuffed bear, all sorts of medieval looking weapons and armor helmets, even a real life replica of the Master Sword and Hylian Shield from The Legend of Zelda. There's all sorts of cool stuff like that that you can view if you come here, and entrance is free. There's a cool World Series type pinball game from the 1937 World Series, and even one of those fortune-telling machines like you saw in the movie Big in the 1980s. Out front there's a really cool wooden sculpture of a Sasquatch. It's worth stopping in for the free carnival sideshow attraction type vibe it has, which seems straight out of the past in a good way. It's also a store: lots of cool trinkets and things, whether it's things like large shells, shirts, mugs and other things you'd expect at a coastal tourist trap store or unexpected stuff. Prices vary from affordable to quite a lot. But that's always expected in tourist traps on the coast and as far as they go this one's pretty cool. Lots of awesome stuff to view that's not product for sale, which makes it always worth stopping in for visit if you're in the area."
"Amazing place, I 100% recommend this place, it is a museum but also a store so many Amazing things to look at! I seriously spent 2 hours in here and still feel like I didn't get to see everything if I wasn't on a time limit then I would have stayed longer. I will definitely be back!"
"Marsha's free museum is weirdly awesome! You really have to take your time so you can read about all the crazy stuff they have hanging on their walls and from their ceiling. All of the employees are super nice and informative about everything that's going on around the town and about the history the museum itself. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area."
