"What’s up with the irregular hours? Seems to always have gate closed. Ontop of it, camp hosts for Lane County are taking the job a little too seriously?! It’s so extreme it’s not inviting. This host in particular looked like a tweaked out homeless man. I wasn’t sure if he worked there or was just bored and wanted to give us a hard time but we just left. It wasn’t professional and the man kept repeating himself so I felt like I had to keep repeating myself. Left us alone after getting onto us, only for him to come back and lay into us again. I had to eventually get my phone out and start recording because I just wasn’t sure of the situation. This was a banged up black jeep. If this man truly works or volunteers for this park: One: taking the job too seriously, he’s going to have a heart attack just from over reacting. Two: lane county should have a rule where camp hosts can only stay at a park/ with the organization for a certain amount of time. I truly think these people get a power trip and try to scare as many people off as possible so they can have the whole place to themselves. That’s the only explanation I can come up with as to why I am having these experiences across the board. How does Lane County parks and recreation make any profit if people keep getting ran off?"
"This is my favorite park that is along Fern Ridge Reservoir. There’s a volleyball net, a baseball field, many picnic tables in different areas to accommodate several different groups of people, a buoyed off swimming (wading) area for summertime and many beautiful old trees. This location has portapotties available."
"This is one of my favorite places in town. Whether the water is up or down in the lake you get a whole different experience and both are worth the visit."
"It was really empty when we went as they are on winter hours now, so we had to park outside of park so took our valuables with us. (October) But it was a nice, quiet time, dipping our feet in the water. The beach area is not cared for by the city, it seems; no trash per se, but chunks of old pier and road at water's edge, it's not really a beach. The picnic area was nice and there's several tables to choose from."
"Beautiful. We went there close to sunset to check the place out. It's a huge park. What we seen was a beautiful park with a volleyball net/area to play, a small baseball area and a lot of grasmmm relax. Wish the outer parking lot was bigger and less sketchy. Also wish the gate was open more (I havent ever seen it open?) I would love to get together with family (during summer/ nice days) more, could be my go to spot. So much prettier than Richardson, I think."
