"Working with Mark and Sheila and their crew was a very positive experience. Mark understood my requests to wash, stain, and seal my log home and shop. The crew was respectful, cleaned up at the end of their shift and spent time on the details, completing a professionally finished project. I highly recommend Oregon Log Home Care and compliment them on a job well done. Kathy"
"Mark, Jeff & Crew, Want you to know that I was extremely pleased with the refinishing job you recently completed on my log home. I will be signing up for your maintenance program. Thank you for a job well done! Larry B."
"We searched long and hard to find someone qualified to refinish the exterior of our log home. We found Oregon Log Home Care via a web search. We are delighted with both the results and the experience. From the start, we could tell we were working with experienced professionals who knew log homes. We received a prompt response to our initial inquiry. Mark set up a site visit appointment and he showed up when he said he would. The bid came shortly after. We signed a contract in April and received an estimated start date for August. The team showed up on the exact date as the original estimate. From the get-go, we could tell that the entire team knew what they were doing. They were skilled, but also courteous, respectful, and organized. And they worked long and hard in some very hot weather. As we said earlier, we are delighted with the results. We are planning to sign up with Oregon Log Home Care for an ongoing maintenance program."
"I highly recommend Cascade Roof Care. I was amazed at how our roof looked when they were finished. Our roof is large and very steep. The crew they sent were very professional and efficient. The results far exceeded my expectations. I will have them back on a yearly basis."
"We used Cascade Wood Care to clean & restain our smooth cedar siding on 2 homes less than 3 yr old. It did not go well. The contract provided showed $1000 less than the estimate. We corrected them. April 10, they cashed the deposit of $500, but we heard nothing. June we contacted them to find out what was up. Within days, late June, Mark called around 8:30 pm asking to start next morning. We hustled removing screens & things away from houses as asked. Foremen Donovan & Jeff were super. Donovan shows initiative. The 1st day a very faded food truck on it showed up in the driveway. The driver had an interview with Mark. Mark apologized about inviting a stranger onto the property & said he wanted him to meet at road. Mark was late so the fellow pulled in. Mark hired him to work on our houses. He did not work out well & Mark fired him after our job. A total lapse of judgment to put a complete stranger (& incompetent at that) on a job/property to look through windows, leave cigarette butts in fire season, etc. Clearly no background or references were checked. Mark lives 2 miles away & could’ve met him in his own dang driveway. Jeff was put on another job & Mr. Food Truck onto ours. The pressure washer left a line where it did not hit. A too high PSI unevenly blasted off a fair bit of the original stain & furred wood in a number of places. (Photo 7/9/20) They expected to be paid for this. Mud & dirt were not removed in many places. Cedar siding, it turns out, should never be pressure washed; sad for near brand new smooth cedar siding. Meanwhile, we carefully instructed Mark to not come on the property unless we were there. He promptly showed upon video on his bicycle. On a 2nd occasion he called wanting to come out the next day. We said, “no” due to having contractors daily for a while & needing a break. Mark showed up anyway. The staining: Mark recommended a log cabin & timber stain. It shouldn’t have been used on smooth cedar siding. It’s thick & the smooth wood won’t absorb it. It is sticky & traps flies. Mark refused to test the stain color on our houses or boards we had from building. Our comments about the gloss were dismissed with “it will absorb.” It did not & still hasn’t. He used his own board & kept it. We chose clear but since it was made for log cabins it leaned to the yellow side of things. Photos show original stain to match per contract did not. (7/23/19) The gloss is unattractive & did not match existing. In two places, my girlfriend’s siding absorbs instead of repelling water. This is the final result Cascade Wood tried to charge for. Mark claimed his Sashco rep told him to use the log & timber stain but when we called, the gentleman denied it. Mark then desperately wanted to fix it with a water based coat on top of the oil based stain to take the shine off the thick stain. We called the rep with Mark present & when asked, the rep told us we would always have to use the same clear coat once we started it. When asked about the future we were told, “who knows what will happen in five years?” We received a full refund but not without my girlfriend being yelled at in her own driveway by Shelia (contracts & billing) who told her she was never going to be pleased & that her standards were too high. Apparently Shelia is correct. I was not pleased & the work did not meet my standards...or my girlfriend's. Shelia also tried to get us to sign a really weird statement listing how we were wrong & they were not. Painters bidding since then have pointed out high places which received zero stain, an area where under the eaves the clear wood was over sprayed & are charging $6500+/- per house to get this stuff off. Mark offered to strip our homes but given judgment lapses & getting yelled at, we were afraid to go further. His work might be great on log cabins & roofs, but smooth cedar siding needs more TLC than this firm can provide. My girlfriend told Shelia, (prompting the yelling?) we can hire our own homeless to screw up our houses. We thought we paid for businesslike & skilled work."
