"Usually quiet. Im often the only one here. Good equip. Cheap dryers."
"Went to do a load here today, for the first time. The exterior of the building and the plate glass windows need cleaning. The building's outside really is in need of a sprucing up as it's hard to tell how modern it is inside. I've avoided going here because of the looks until recently. And the front door shows obvious damage from a thief breaking into the building in the past. Once inside though...wow...very nice, very clean, even the older machines look okay. Since I was the only person there, I checked many machines for grime, didn't find any. They have the standard top loaders and the front loaders, than so really big rug washing machines. $5/load for the big machines. There's a wall or two filled with big commercial drum type dryers. First thing I do when I visit a new to me laundromat (I'm a full time RV'er) is look for placards on the wall stating how long the wash and dry cycles are. Nothing posted about that. Checked everywhere in the building. Nada. And they have some pretty fancy schmancy machines too. You'd think they'd want people to know how to use them before inserting their money. Couldn't find one single helpful placard anywhere. Well, okay, washers are generally 35 minutes and what I was using was a standard machine. No biggie. Put in my $1.75, ran my errands and returned to nice damp clothes. Turned to and loaded the dryer. Big machine, I'm not familiar with this particular brand or model. There are 3 marks on the temp dial and I put it near the MED mark. I tried several of the dryers and those knobs were all loose...they didn't have a positive CLICK into the temps, so I figured they are variable. Then, there's NOTHING about how much money vs how much time stamped or printed on the dryers. It's the type of machine that has a quarter slot and knob, put in a quarter and turn the knob and the quarter racks up time. Yeah, but HOW MUCH TIME!!??? Really annoying when they don't tell you and there's no display. I guessed that the 3 quarters I put in the dryer would give me 15 minutes each for 45 minutes total as that's what the vast majority of dryers in laundromats are set for. And works great at a MED heat setting. At Washtub Willy's, apparently it's 10 minutes per quarter. Fine and good, but when I came back just as it finished and opened the door WOW my clothes were so hot I thought they'd burst into flame. There is a HIGH setting on the dryer and apparently setting it to MED doesn't reduce the temp much. Had I known, I only would have put in 2 quarters. I only had a standard load...did not overload. Don't want to give a bad impression, this is a nice laundromat, economical, with many big machines for rugs and bedding too, but I'd suggest staying there with your clothes if you can so you know what's up with the machines. Usually I'd stay there with my laundry but today I had errands. My hope is they see this review and put up some signs about the wash and dry times for ALL of the machines! I will want to use the big rug machine soon. They have a bunch of different styles and types and it's best to know what I'm doing so I don't ruin stuff."
