"Working with Foster was unpredictable, unprofessional, chaotic, and highly stressful. Constantly. My returns were handled by over a dozen different people and I never had any idea what was happening. Every single thing happened last minute without any space for consultation. I received URGENT emails late at night that came out of the blue but required my immediate attention if I wanted to avoid fines. My basic request for itemized invoices was never successful. I just got invoices back to back. This is just scratching the surface. I don't think I've ever written a negative online review, but working with them was a nightmare. I wish I'd left sooner. Stay far, far away. And no, it wasn't just the pandemic. I told myself that and stayed long afterwards. I wish I hadn't."

"I started my landscape business 8 years ago. I know the world of landscape but I'll be the first to admit that I do not know the world of bookkeeping and accounting. I hired Foster and Associates to manage all of that for me. It has been a disaster from day one. They failed to file my quarterly tax returns to the Oregon Dept of Revenue countless times and now I owe tens of thousands just in late fees and interest. Every year they have to file an extension on my Federal Tax returns because the books are a mess. I'm constantly asking them what they need from me. I'm constantly requesting a meeting so that I can get an update and I get no response. If I treated my customers the way they treat me I would be out of business. The only reason I stay with them is because they are always in the middle of projects. I keep hoping they can complete these project before I cut ties but those projects never get completed. It's an endless frustrating battle. I do not recommend hiring their services."

"I am not one to leave bad reviews but my interaction with Foster & Associates has been an absolute nightmare. Their unprofessionalism, lack of responsiveness, and detrimental advice have caused me significant financial hardship and emotional distress. I placed my trust in Doug's expertise and followed his advice. Unfortunately, this proved to be a costly mistake. The guidance I received from Doug led me down a path of severe financial consequences. I then got bounced around to multiple associates who did not have a clear answer. It seemed as though my concerns were of little importance to them, as they often took weeks or even months to respond to my emails and calls. The whole experience has been a nightmare of unresponsiveness and incompetence. The unprofessional conduct, inadequate advice, and the resulting financial hardship and emotional toll have left me deeply dissatisfied and disappointed. I caution anyone considering their services to avoid this firm at all costs and seek out a CPA firm that values its clients' well-being and professionalism."

"My experience with Foster and Associates CPA was nothing but unprofessional, stressful and frustrating. After initially assuring me they would be able to take care of my taxes I was passed on from associate to associate, having to explain my situation multiple times. The final bill I received for their services was astronomically higher than the initial quote with charges that had been added without any explanation or warning. It took multiple inquiries to even get a detailed breakdown of the charges and when I did I discovered I was charged for things like the time I took out of my schedule to come into their office to explain (again) to their associates the details of my case as well as charges for email communication between myself and associates. I wish I could say that my experience was unique, but I had given their contact to a friend who had a nearly identical experience to my own — unprofessional, hidden/unexplained charges and inexperienced staff."

"Summary: Stay away, they have made 3 major errors with just in the last year. When errors highlighted, they promise to respond, then fail to do so. I have been a client of Carl's for nine to ten years. Carl and his team were AWESOME, then things changed in late 2019 when he left. The new lead and his team have been *horrible*. Mistakes were made on my taxes, but we worked through it. I am outside of the area, but they would not work with me on electronic submissions. They twice mailed very sensitive documents to my non-mailing address. They admit the mistakes, promise to follow-up , then fail to communicate in a timely and respectful way. I dislike giving negative reviews, but in this case, too many issues happened over a multiple interactions and in many of the cases I felt disrespected as a customer. I will be happy to have the owner respond and help me change my opinion"
