"Kaiser doesn’t want to pay for procedures that they think are not needed. Kaiser doesn’t care about a patient’s quality of life and if the procedure would improve it. Their doctor’s are like robots. They need younger doctors who are progressive thinkers and have better bed side manners. Dr. Michael Mays needs to retire and stop being a Kaiser puppet."
"I received the worst health care management I have ever had at Kaiser Permanente in Portland. The primary care doctor I was assigned was very booked out, and I never met her. I went to urgent care multiple times, and had to advocate over and over for a referral to a specialist, which also took a really long time to get scheduled with, and which required seeing another PCP and going through a health checklist for months before I was allowed to schedule with the specialist. I do not feel that they took women’s health issues seriously, as they never ordered testing for any of my complaints. Now that I have a new health insurance and PCP, tons of testing was ordered right away, and I was immediately referred to multiple specialists. If you have women’s health concerns and you have Kaiser, I highly recommend going out of network or switching systems completely to access quality care. I am a healthcare provider with a doctorate degree, and I think the lack of personalized attention is really dangerous here."
"My last four visits to oncology has been wonderful. Carol, Sara, and Erin were all so kind, positive and just made a rough situation easy. I am forever grateful!"
"My nurse Erin was a pro today. She was very thorough with every aspect of administrating my treatment. Also a good note is all staff workers asked me all the identity questions of my name birthday address and phone number. I've heard of other hospitals missing on this and rooming the wrong patient."
"The opthamalogist, Dr. Ma, had a good assistant who explained what we were doing and cared about my case. My eyes were dilated so I could not read the assistant's name - sorry. Dr. Ma told me my treatment options for this complication after cataract surgery, and approved the followup treatment. Before I left, the assistant came back in the room and found me an appointment for the eye procedure - all done in one visit! This is the benefit of an integrated network of providers who know each other, and know the capabilities of the system members to get something done."
