"Jerry called me back promptly after I left a message. Arrived on time. I had called to troubleshoot a leak from the ceiling in the lower bathroom. Jerry checked everything, located the probable source of the leak, an old water heater. He went over what to do and to call if I had any problems. I will use Jerry again if needed."

"Do not hire. Look up his complaint history on CCB. Unprofessional in every sense. Stormed off the foundation project he was contracted to do after I rejected his bid for the future framing/remodel phase of work. I suspect he realized he underbid the initial foundation work and needed an out. He left the house on beams and bottle jacks without providing plans that could be used to finish the foundation work and did not return my calls. Horrible communication skills, inflated ego (constantly mentioning “ i’ve been doing this for x years, nobody could do what I do…) Anger issues & rapid changes in affect for man of his age. He was screaming nonsensical profanities at me & ripped his shirt off acting as if he was wanted fight me before he got in his truck & peeled out. It was a bizarre experience. I just laugh about it now as just another ole’ Oregon contractor story, but am only writing this so you know the potential of who you are getting involved with. If you do hire please learn from my mistakes: #1 ensure the contract has clauses to clawback paid funds if work is not finished. Have a clearly defined scope of work & time-frames. Ensure the contract is legible and notarized by both parties #2 have a contract attorney or someone knowledgeable review his contract before signing. It’s worth the small amount of money relative to the project cost to ensure you can collect on his bond should he breach the contract terms."

"I needed the whole foundation redone on my house. It was sagging and barely hanging on. I don’t think anything was done to it since it was built in 1927. I called Jerry and he called right back and met up with me within the week. I called a bunch of other places and the time frame for meeting me at the house was at least 3 weeks out at the time.. he was very clear on what needed to be done, ALOT..As I have never dealt with anything like this before; he walked me through everything and was thorough with all his work. I have handed his cards out to people in the industry and would recommend him first for any foundation needs.. you get what you pay for.. I knew it was a spendy job, I’m glad I hired him, will do it again in a heartbeat"

"Jerry saved my house. I had severe damage resulting from years of water undermining the foundation. This caused the aging foundation to eventually break and rotate outwards which buckled the walls and shifted the entire house. By the time I was made aware of the condition (it’s a rental) water had worked its way in causing extensive dry rot. Other contractors didn’t include anything other than the foundation repair itself in their bids. This would mean bringing additional contractors in for dry rot and framing repair. Additionally everyone considered the garage a total loss. Jerry not only took care of everything, including sizeable hidden damage, he was able to save the garage. All in all it took an extra week or so beyond his estimate but he held true to his original bid."

"Thank you! Jerry Smith and his crew helped save our 1924 bungalow in Silverton, OR with a beautiful new basement and porch. Three years ago, we thought we’d never find someone to help us figure out how to fix our house. We had a failing basement/foundation walls, an unlevel house, a failing front porch and a chimney ready to topple down. We had several contractors come look at our house and give us estimates, but nothing clicked until we met Jerry. He was the only one who looked our house over so thoroughly from bottom to top (not just focusing on the basement, but the structure and integrity of the roof rafters) that we knew he was the one to do the work. It took about 4 months of work to lift, dig, jack hammer, level, pour new reinforced footings and walls, build a new porch and patch the siding and roof where the chimney once stood. We even were able to stay in the house while it was lifted on the crib stacks and steel beams…it was amazing that the house actually felt sturdier lifted off it’s failing foundation. Jerry and his guys were always available when we had questions or concerns and we certainly appreciated their time and determination to do a great job. They also left the yard tidy even after months of work. We couldn’t have asked for better craftsmanship and concrete work and we were truly sad to see the guys leave that final day. We feel like we got a brand new home and are thankful everyday for the fantastic job done. Thank you!"
