"My central heating blower motor bearings were going and created an awful racket (intermittently). Comfort Control Heating assessed the issue and gave a proposal to replace the blower motor. There was a charge for this assessment visit. I hired Comfort Control to replace the blower motor, which they did on a subsequent visit. After replacing the motor, the screeching from the failing bearings was gone, but now there was a loud constant hum that propagated throughout the house through the duct system. There was no mention in any note left by the tech as to what this sound was, or why my system was left with this sound. So, I called Comfort Control Heating to ask them. They said they would send the tech out to check on it. After the tech left, I was told that the blower needed a new housing, but that the factory no longer made them. I received an invoice for the visit. The comments on the invoice read "Found blower housing had vibration/humming sound. Sound would stop when blower was pushed on/metal was flexed. Tried to price out new housing for customer but found part is obsolete from factory. Tried putting metal tape on housing. Also tried putting extra screw in bracket and could not stop noise." The sound is too loud to live with, so I asked for a proposal to replace the blower (with the new motor) with something that wasn't so noisy. I called back several times asking for the proposal. They didn't provide one. They did call to follow up on where the payment for their visit to assess the was. I was surprised. The visit was to assess an issue that they created when they swapped out my blower motor. Since I called about the issue the day after they swapped out the motor, I would have thought this would have been a warranty item. They see it differently. I've asked to speak with the manager, but nobody will talk to me but the receptionist/office manager, who has been very nice and polite."
"Install both drains incorrectly water backed up and my furnace has rust all over the inside of it. Water drained on wood floors evertime it would get hot outside and condenser would work hard. Then they charged me for 150.00 for coming out to see if they installed down flow kit on furnace. They did come out to redo the two drains per the installation instructions that were not installed correctly at time of the furnace installation. Terrible install and follow up use anybody else for heating and cooling."
"We had an issue with the system they installed several years ago. They were quick to respond and thorough in their inspection. They diagnosed the problem and got us running again. We appreciate their service!"
"Installed original Carrier HVAC in 2000. Needed repair almost annually. Had new high efficiency Carrier system installed by them. Found out at tax time installers are not certified by Carrier therefore I was not elgibly for energy credit. That cost me a couple thousand dollars. Humidifier did not work, they said they did not install it. (See first sentence) Finally got them to wire the system "correctly", so I thought. Next filter change I noticed the water was running constantly in the humidifer. It should only run when the fan is on. Called Comfort Control only to be told the warrantee was up. Use them at your own risk."
"Before calling Comfort Control I called Dr. HVAC. They didn’t really diagnose the problem with our heat pump, but filled the system with refrigerant and gave me a bill for $600. It worked for about 45 minutes. Comfort Control diagnosed the problem, laid out my options and replaced my system on schedule and on budget. They’re professional and reliable."
