"started working out here in January 2024 from day one I have been warmly greeted by all the staff and treated like family, they are encouraging to one another to achieve goals as a teem , this gym is teem orientated, they all work together ❤️ nicely providing excellent customer service, clean environment And comfort being true to ourselves As individuals in our own routine and different style trying to grow they are upbuilding with positive reinforcements validation support of results. I have already made friends in a short time this is essential support of Mutual goals, supporting the entire health community achieve their individual dreams here at Gladstone."
"I go many times each week. Friendly staff. I've seen how members just leave paper towels, drink cups, etc when they leave a machine so you would think it would be a terrible dump. It's not though - so staff must be working hard to keep it clean. We used to go to a Portland gym but stopped going because of how dirty it was. Something else I love about the Gladstone 24 Hrs is that they decorate for holidays. Makes it less terrible to be headed into the gym to work out when it's so cheerful and festive."
"This used to be the best 24 in town. Now ITS DISGUSTING. The floor in the locker room is never mopped, and I mean never. Yet you've just emailed us about the raise in price. For what? What are we paying more for? And by all means; if someone would like to have a discussion about the lack if cleanliness, im the big black guys wit the braids the most of the staff avoids eye contact with or speaks too lol . Be blessed."
"While briefly working in Oregon City I decided to use a guest pass at 24 hour fitness. The young person who checked me in was named Tae’ya was super friendly and very knowledgeable. The equipment is top tier and the view is great!!!! My only request is they clean the windows so you can get an unobstructed view of the river(but I’m sure it’s just a nature thing)"
"It's a shame that I live within walking distance from a beautiful gym with a beautiful view, and will have to drive past it and into Oregon City for a hopefully better experience with a competitor. 24 has contacted me with an offer for a discounted membership as an ex-member, but unfortunately I decided to pass for now. Here's why. There are three main reasons which kill it for me. First of all, the cleanliness, or lack thereof. Oh my GOD. So many times, like EVERY time, I would go in and see a trail of drops of thick brown liquid dribbled from the upstairs and into the men's bathroom. Look... I have sympathy for people with disabilities. I have a bit of urinary incontinence as a mid-twenties male due to a painful and debilitating spinal condition, and you know what? It's humiliating, it's inconvenient, and it sucks. I can't imagine how devastating and horrible it would be if/when that problem affects my digestive system as well. That being said, if you are having fecal accidents. Past your diaper/pad/etc. and onto the floor. EVERY TIME YOU GO TO THE GYM. You shouldn't be allowed back until you are able to contain your bodily fluids within your clothes and means of hygienic protection, I'm sorry. More importantly, it should be cleaned up by staff right away in the rare event that it happens. It is completely unacceptable that people should have to watch their step for literal poop every time they work out. That is so unforgivably disgusting and hazardous to public health. Or maybe it was something that only looked like poop...? Whatever. Either way it shouldn't have been there once, it shouldn't have been there twice, and it shouldn't have been there nearly every time I went in!!! Secondly, another big safety issue. For a few months before I quit going, someone kept robbing the men's locker room. The remedy was a sign on the front door & desk warning people to keep their valuables onhand and not use the lockers. According to front desk staff, someone kept going in there with bolt cutters and cutting the locks. I watched one poor soul leave the gym in a panic, on the phone to get their credit cards frozen, while the perp had already used the individual's stolen wallet to make purchases in town. Someone else had their clothes and shoes taken from, again, a padlocked locker. I cannot BELIEVE that the issue persisted for so long, assuming it's been resolved by now (I don't know if it has). Needless to say my trust in management to maintain a secure environment going forward is completely shattered. I would understand having to buy a pack to carry around while working out if I lived in downtown Portland, but this is Gladstone. People leave their kids' bikes on the porch in this neighborhood. Why can't I leave my stuff in a gym locker??? Finally, my inability to access this gym on the weekends (my best workout days) due to short hours. Everyone's already pointed out that the gym no longer lives up to its name. This was understandable during covid, and in some of the post-covid economic shakeup, but these days? Almost every other gym is open past 8pm... I can't stress that enough... 8pm!!! on the weekends, and many others are humming along just fine with several 24-hour access days. So why not this one? All in all, I really can't recommend this place. Every person I've encountered working here has been very friendly and the equipment is honestly pretty great. It's even a good value if you can get a yearly membership on sale. You'd think it be perfect, but the fact that I'm likely to step in literal human s**t, have my valuables stolen and miss a weekend workout due to limited hours, in total, a disaster and a complete dealbreaker."
