"I cancelled my Chewy subscription after finding the same food here for about $10 less. Plus, everyone is so helpful every time I go in that I couldn't see giving my money to an online source when I could support local. The staff are always knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating."
"I want to support small local businesses, I truly do, especially in the age of box stores. The people who work here are super friendly and were helpful. But. I cannot support a business that keeps animals in inadequate conditions, even if they are supposed to be temporary. This ball python should be in at least a 20 gallon tank, if not a 30. The substrate needs to be at least two inches deep, and needs to hides that have only one entrance, not just propped up against the side of the enclosure. There were Guinea pigs living with rabbits, and a kitten with minimal toys/comfort spots or easy access to food and water (on a separate level that baby would've had to jump to get to, no ramp provided). I know having live animals is rare these days for small shops but if you don't have the space to provide proper enclosures (which in turn provide education for new pet owners as well as guarantees a healthy animal) then don't carry live animals."
"Customer service these days is no existent most places you go but Parker & Gabe always greet me with a smile, answer any questions I may have and always provide great customer service no matter the day or time. Thank you so much for all of your help! Also, shout out to Gabe! This man saw me staring at their kittens and opened their lil house up for me so I could give them some pets. Nothing gives your day a boost quite like petting some adorable kittens. Only pet store I go to now."
"I’ve been shopping here for about a decade because it’s a cute little store I feel comfortable in and staff are super sweet. But. What’s up with the macaw? A life of isolation in the glass room, watching customers go by is sad. I’ve never once seen them interact with it, and I don’t know much about parrots but I’ve always known them to be highly social. “Their most significant health issue is not physical but emotional. As intelligent, social beings, macaws are prone to boredom and loneliness. A depressed macaw will self-injure by pulling out its feathers. There are two simple solutions to this problem: Either get more than one macaw or spend a great deal of time interacting with your pet” She just sits alone, all day, everyday. I think the owner needs to reach out to a parrot rescue at this point. Also, she badly needs a beak trim. It’s about to poke her in the throat. I asked staff when she had it done last and they couldn’t even remember. If she’s too aggressive to be handled to do so she should be brought to a rescue to have someone help her work on that or taken to a vet to have it done instead of it being shrugged of. I don’t work here so I don’t know the situation but to the public it looks bad. I want to continue to shop here because I love this little place but I’m an animal lover and if the owners aren’t true animal lovers and here for the money then I’m out. I know one customer loss isn’t much but know it would be done with good intention!"
