"Wonderful barn, wonderful horses and a wonderful trainer. Eric Noel is an experienced trainer and judge who gives people the proper freedom to learn. He knows when to step in and correct. He allows people to get their own feel for riding, and then tweaks their learned behaviors to create a beautiful and well thought out learning program. The fine balance between hands on and hands off allows trainees to learn at their own pace, without being forced to do something they lack confidence in. This place is very hands on, so come help make this barn a better place. If you want to learn the fundamentals of horsemanship, horse care and jumping horses, this is the place for you. "I've ridden with Eric for many years and he is an excellent trainer and horseman. If you really want to learn how to ride, and not just pose as your horse packs you around, he's the trainer for you. I have always appreciated that he explains how mistakes affect the horse so you can understand why making a change is important, and his focus is on teaching correct balance and use of the aids so that horse and rider can work in unison. He has lots of years' experience successfully retraining off-track thoroughbreds (I have two) and is very good at teaching the type of light-hands riding these horses require to go quietly in a new job. While the facility is not fancy, the horses are happy and very well cared for, and they noticeably all really like Eric. I highly recommend The Chase for riding lessons and training, whether you are interested in showing or just want to improve your riding skills."
