"This place is a hidden gem in east Portland! Everyone from the owner to the people working the front desk are great and very accommodating. We just started seeing Jasmine and she's absolutely wonderful!"
"Lisa has helped my granddaughter and my grandson in so many ways. My granddaughter had cerebral palsy and extreme sensory issues. Lisa has worked with her since she was really little, and has helped in so many ways. She is very knowledgeable and cares so much about her clients, she goes way over what she needs to do in order to help her clients! She not only helped Hazel herself, but she researched other types of treatments and therapies that would help Hazel, and fought for us in many ways so that we could get the services Hazel deserved! She not only helped Hazel, she was an amazing support for my daughter, who was trying to deal with all the issues Hazel had. My grandson, also, was helped with his ADHD and sensory issues. She did therapy with him, and even let him use her program for listening- a very expensive program that she purchased for her clients to use, which helps him learn to focus and listen better. He listens to it every day for 30 minutes. We appreciate all that LIsa has done for our family, and highly recommend her to anyone who has a child with sensory issues, autism, cerebral palsy or even ADHD."
"I started taking my daughter 4 years ago at 7months old. My daughter wasn't supposed to walk because of brain damage and cerebral palsy at birth. Lisa was amazing and did so much for her, too many to list. She " taught" her to crawl by teaching her muscles how to move and then to walk. I learned so much from her. I know in my heart that without Lisa's expertise my daughter wouldn't be where she is today. Lisa gives her heart and soul to the families she works with and will move mountains to get what your child needs with regards to insurance. I didn't realize how amazing and caring she truly is until I switched to a different OT. I changed because her speech therapist had an OT opening and was going to be much closer. Lisa moved her office and it would have been a 45 min drive one way to see Lisa. The other office I took my daughter to will remain unnamed but it was a bad fit for us. I felt as though we were viewed as just a paycheck. Needless to say we have switched back to Lisa this week and it is well worth the 1.5hr drive round trip to see Lisa. Leaving Lisa was the biggest mistake I have ever made! I owe all of my amazing daughter's success to Lisa. Oh and her new office is AMAZING!"
"I read so many parenting books and tried the techniques they taught, tried play therapy, eliminated gluten and dairy, enrolled them inspecial preschools, talked to doctors, counselors, teachers, and so much more. My good friend started taking her daughter to see Lisa and the changes in her behavior were amazing! I quickly made an appointment for both my kids. I hadn't understood before what spd was, but once Lisa took the time to explain everything, I finally had a "label" for the many issues I was having with the kids. Within two sessions, both my 8-year-old son and my 5-year-old daughter learned how to ride bikes without training wheels and scooters. My daughter soon after stopped sucking her thumb. My son started choosing Legos and reading over video games. My son has become more social - he likes hanging out with others instead of always going off on his own. He feels confident in his body - his movements have become more fluid and strong. Loud sounds and fabrics don't bother him as much. When he gets overwhelmed in large crowds, instead of throwing himself on the ground, he verbalizes how he feels. My daughter no longer cries every time we wash her hair. The changes have been shocking and quick. I feel like my relationship with both kids has gotten so much better - instead of constantly trying to figure out why they are crying or yelling, I get to enjoy spending time with them. I am so thankful that my friend introduced me to Pediatric Sensory Therapy. Lisa is very experienced and, with two young kids of her own, is compassionate and empathetic. Sally, the other therapist, is charming, energetic, and knowledgable. Wendi at the front desk is always happy and a magician scheduler and insurance processor. You can tell that all three women love what they do and it shows in their passion and enthusiasm. If you have tried everything else and are ready to give up, please call and make an appointment. I wouldn't have believed that simple exercises, skin brushing, compressing, stretching, and thereapeutic listening would make such a positive impact in my kids' behavior and fine and gross motor skills. My skeptical husband and I are now believers and we recommend Pediatric Sensory Therapy to everyone we know!!"
"I am so thankful to Lisa for what she has taught me and how she's helped my kids. My two boys have sensory issues and had seen other therapists over the years, but Lisa is on a whole other level. She has a genuine interest and passion about sensory therapy and doesn't stop investigating until she gets to the root of the problem. You can tell that this is what she is meant to do. Lisa brings energy and enthusiasm to every session and is so respectful and kind to my kids. They love their time with her and have each told me that they hope they can go to OT for the rest of their lives! It's been reassuring to see the big strides they have made with her over the last 7 months. Another thing I like about Lisa is that she wants to make OT accessible to everyone so she accepts most insurance and will offer discounted rates to families who need it. She has a big heart and is a real gem."
