"I used to be a patient with MCCS - my therapist was awesome; we got along well, I felt like she really understood me, and she worked with me to break a lot of walls down and make me feel comfortable sharing. However, a little after a year seeing my therapist through MCCS, I was essentially “fired” from seeing my therapist for being “too sick” because I have chronic health conditions which are only complicated by my mental health conditions. The company felt that I did not satisfy their ability to monitor metrics, and thus I was “too sick” to receive therapy, despite me seeing my therapist three times a month. I was never offered a bi-weekly schedule which would have better suited my needs for therapy at the time (I have a couple doctors appointments a week so biweekly would have been much more feasible with my schedule). I was explicitly told by my therapist that “things don’t always just happen” which was deeply invalidating to the reality of life in general, but also the trust that I thought we had developed felt fake because of course things always happen, life is cruel and unforgiving and for over a year she listened to me and made me feel reassured that life throws wrenches in the works constantly, just to end my care by basically saying she didn’t believe all the hardships I was going through as my hardships (which are completely out of my control) did not best suit the needs of the company. If you’re looking for a company that cares about helping patients more then their own metrics and making money (them making money off me was routinely brought up throughout the course of my care, which should have been a red flag but I’m mentally ill, so I hardly ever properly identify a red flag even when it’s waving in my face), I suggest you look elsewhere."

"I have been seeing Charles Taylor for EMDR therapy for about a year now. Finding a therapist you jive with can be a daunting task, but Charles makes it easy. He will kindly but bluntly call you on your BS to get to the root issues while simultaneously watching with a skillful eye to make sure you aren't going too far down the trauma rabbit hole. I still have a way to go when to comes to processing the things we are working on, but the amount of progress I have made is unreal and has drastically improved the quality of my life.
