"The title company was very unprofessional and difficult to work with. My name was not listed on the home and I was given Power of Attorney on the sale of the house and to make all decisions "without the input or interference" from my ex-husband. This was a signed court order that the title company would not honor. I was given a choice to have the ex-husband agree and sign all documents OR have the proceeds be placed in a trust (to be tied up for months) for the attorney to distribute. The real estate agent was representing the buyers and the sellers (us) so I did not feel like I had any honest advocate other than my attorney. I was forced into a very uncomfortable position with all the parties involved and not able to make the decisions the judge had given me the authority to do with the POA. Once the property closed and all documents signed a title officer sent out a group email (real estate agent, escrow officers, sellers, attorneys) "Congratulations everyone". They had canceled signing appointments and at one appointment where I thought I was signing, once I had arrived they took me to the conference room and told me there was nothing ready to sign. They were unprofessional and did not honor the legal documents presented to them. The real estate agent choose them without any input from myself the POA on the property. I will be not be working with them in the future and recommend that they be avoided due to their disregard of signed court ordered judgements and unprofessionalism."
