"After having a great experience here with my son, I referred two friends here for their children. Both of them had very negative experiences, and both children are now completely opposed to therapy and both of whom need help. The inexperienced therapists did more harm than good. This place has interns and therapists new to providing therapy. This is a huge gamble with your child's trust in seeking mental health services and one negative experience can last a lifetime. They called child protective services on one person I referred, who is the best mom I know, and who I've known closely since her child was a toddler. They also got child protective services involved in my other friend's case, and then the other party retaliated in kind, and had a case opened against my friend, who is also one of the best mom's I know. It seems they really don't know how to screen for DV or child abuse because they over report when it's not happening. The resulting trauma of an abuse investigation for a child when it's not happening can end up being as severe as actual child abuse because for 60 days there's an ongoing investigations with teachers, doctors, and people close. It is outs the child as having been depressed and seeking help. It can also compromise the parent's ability to work, especially if they work in education or health fields. (Both of my friends lost their jobs temporarily during the investigation). I'm sad to not be able to refer people to the Hope Connection anymore. It was a great resource for my family when I needed it, but for the past 3 years I've heard two too many horror stories from the friends I've referred."
"Have called and left multiple voicemails with no call back. Very shameful. Will never work with them and would advise others to look elsewhere."
"My kids absolutely love this place! Very pleased with the staff and atmosphere."
"Very welcoming atmosphere and helpful therapists"
"Lay staff that do not know how to screen patients for domestic violence or abuse. DO NOT seek therapy here if you are concerned you are in a domestic violence or abusive situation. Please."
