"I've had a great experience coming here for cuts and color by Caroline! She's excellent at what she does, and really cares about the wants of the client. She pays attention to every detail, and I've left everytime feeling great about my hair. I highly recommend scheduling with her, and I plan on getting my hair done by her after she graduates. Thank you Caroline!"
"This place is terrible. They don't care about their students, staff or customers. All they care about is how to make the most money. No complaint you make will be taken seriously and they bribe students and staff with almost expired product into leaving 5 star reviews to make their page look better. You're better off never stepping foot in there. Stay away!"
"DO NOT ENROLL IN THIS SCHOOL OR PAY FOR ANY SERVICES!! I am a graduate student from Beau Monde Academy and want to warn everyone not to give any of their money to this business. On my multiple visits and orientation of this school, I was promised an organized and well thought out education program but was incredibly disappointed after enrollment. There were so many red flags that I wish I didn’t ignore, but I’m here to share them with you in hopes that you don’t make the same mistake as me. I enrolled in the nail technology program and took the evening part-time schedule as it aligned with my work schedule, thinking that I was going to receive the same education and training as the full-time students. I was wrong. On my FIRST DAY, I arrived to class at my scheduled time and waited in an empty classroom an ENTIRE HOUR before my teacher and classmates returned from their lunch break. When my teacher arrived, the class went straight into practicing the techniques they were lectured on in the morning. I was not pulled aside and given any of the theory work but was told to jump right in with my classmates and start practicing manicures. I had never even touched some of the implements and chemicals that were used in a manicure before that day and was expected to learn from my classmates’ work as they were also just now learning how to use those same materials. For the rest of my time in the classroom, I never got a lecture on how to do any of the techniques that we were expected to perform on clients. I either taught myself from the online books and videos, asked my classmates for a demonstration, or had to catch my teacher at the right moment to show me. I was even discouraged from doing book work in school because the owners wanted us to practice on people as much as possible. In theory, that would be a great idea, but how am I supposed to perform a service I don’t know how to do? This is a school; you’re supposed to learn how to do stuff in a school. Not at home after school and work, but in a classroom. I don’t blame my teacher for any of this because she, a single individual, was expected to manage 15+ students from two different programs and completely different class schedules. How can anyone expect one teacher to keep up with the immense amount of work? Meanwhile, the hair design program has 5 different instructors. My class alone had 11 students. We were expected to share four workstations when we went onto the salon floor and started taking clients. How are 11 human beings all going to take clients or practice with two manicure tables and two pedicure stations? The management of this school was non-existent. If there are not enough stations for every student to work with the bare minimum supplies needed for a service, why is Beau Monde enrolling so many students? Additionally, we received mediocre tool kits. I’m talking the worst quality implements you’ve ever seen and practice mannequin hands that aren’t even used in the classroom because of how bad they are. I had to buy my own tools because the kit tools were so dull that they were harming my clients every time I used them. I received nail polish that even Dollar Tree wouldn’t sell because of how poor of quality they were. While on the salon floor, I was expected to offer acrylic and gel nail enhancements but was not even given the materials in my own kit to do so. My teacher, bless her, supplied her own acrylic brushes, tips, and other supplies from her own pocket, because the school was too cheap to supply them themselves. There is even more to say about this school but the main point is save yourself and don't enroll here. No complaints will be taken seriously, your time, money, and efforts will be taken advantage of."
