"I came to Beaverton High at the start of sophomore year. From Google reviews and stories I'd heard, I didn't expect anything great from BHS. I left Wilson High School due to a lack of motivation and an obsession for drug culture. I only prayed for better at Beaverton, but wasn't positive I would find anything different. I was blown away when I got here. This school has been such an incredible influence in my life, and I truly feel I've been given so many opportunities which I couldn't find anywhere else. The faculty here is beyond welcoming and highly supportive of their student's needs. For any students looking to attend BHS, please enroll in the Marketing Pathway or the Digital Media Pathway. These two programs give students incredible real-world experience that they won't be able to get anywhere else. The Sports and Events Marketing class requires students to call businesses and set up sponsorships for the annual Jam the Dam event, which supports the Make-a-Wish Foundation. In Digital Marketing, students learn how to use social media to build and advertise a brand. Often, students will meet with local businesses and organizations to help create digital marketing campaigns them. A lot of the Digital Media Pathway is dedicated to creating the new Dam Magazine, which spotlights student's poetry and photographs, and has received great recognition from the local community even outside of BHS. Overall, this school has set me up for excellence, which I hope it will for you as well. If Beaverton is on your list of choices for high school, I urge you to give it a chance and take advantage of the amazing programs they offer."
"So appreciative of the warm and welcoming atmosphere at BHS! There is a huge focus on community involvement and preparing students for their futures, whether those plans include college, trade school, work, service, and/or the military. I would encourage any family interested in BHS to visit the campus to explore the curricular options and day-to-day experience."
"Administration unwelcoming to my mother, councilor straight up insulted my mother, teachers can't teach, beaver lodge (access tutorial but stupid) gives me AIDS, students are in a comfortable environment in which they feel they can use lighters in the halls, smoke cigarettes and weed and offer all of this to me. This is one of the worst experiences of my life currently trying to transfer over to Westview, my previous school, I pray for anyone who is force into this prison."
"This school was exceptional during the mid 1960's when I was a young teacher. It was a 10-12 school with a sense of pride that showed in everything they did. I was the choral music director with hundreds of students in choirs and ensembles. I have many precious memories from the 4 years I was there ... chief among them were the students. I trust the tradition of excellence has continued in Beaverton's Schools."
"Students are very disrespectful. Racist and homophobic comments heard often and daily. This school definitely has a bullying problem and the staff does NOTHING about it. Teachers usually choose favorites. Love the security lady, Lydia. Really wish the rest of the staff could be like her."
