"I moved to Oregon from the East Coast in 2022. Away from everyone and everything I knew. It was pretty lonely and I didn't know if I was ever going to find friends or community after leaving college. This store is the coziest, friendliest, best place you will ever find for your trading card needs. Everyone is kind and welcoming. The prices are fair. The events are always a blast! It is not an over exaggeration to say this store significantly improved my mental health. I am very thankful for it. It's a must see if you are into TCG's."
"Have come here twice in the span of a couple of months and the staff is very inattentive and very uninterested in helping customers. When asking if the staff could take a list of cards that we were looking for, the staff said "we don't do that here" and insisted we could look at what was in the case. This is very outside of what we are used to at other shops. I don't think we'll be returning again to Cardboard Diamonds and I hope they can create a better atmosphere for any future customers. Edit post owner reply: We weren’t looking a big outfit store ultimately. We are just new to the community and we’re looking for customer service and assistance. Thank you for confirming that we won’t be returning, I’m sure this will be a helpful demonstration of your conflict resolution to your future and current customer base."
"I would give it a lower rating if I could, me and my wife drove out from Happy Valley with a book of first edition Pokemon cards that we wanted to have an associate look at because we didn’t know what we had. Due to the mostly positive reviews we felt it was the right store to bring these to but man we were wrong. The associate behind the counter was on his phone for a personal call when we entered and didn’t move from his chair behind the counter. When we asked him about taking a look at our cards he barely responded and was rude responding with “we have enough original Pokemon cards”. He didn’t want to look at them at all, and referred to your “online pricing guide” or that he could do an appraisal for $20 for the book. After showing him the first couple of pages we asked of he thought it would be worth it to appraise them and he glanced at the book and nodded his head without moving from his chair. He clearly didn’t want our business and didn’t want to work in any capacity so we left. We will not come back."
"The employees are nice and the shop has potential. but the players are toxic and the employees do nothing about it. after defending myself against this toxic clear, I it up to the employees attention. no response. I wish the employees actually did something about it. Unfortunately I will not be going back to this location. Update. I received a response from the shop and wanted to clarify since they asked why I changed my previous review. I had updated my review because I had provided a far too detailed description of the toxic player that was not necessary for the review of the shop also I was incorrect with one of the statements about the rounds. I updated it to the interaction with the shop. 1. I had asked for a judge twice, once about a rulling but we never received a reply so my opponent and I just gave up and looked it up online we still couldn't figure it out for sure and went with what we thought it meant. 2nd was about the toxic player and I wanted a judge to call them for poor sportsmanship and coaching since he kept telling my opponent how his deck can be at mine. 2. I had talked to an employee there was a 2nd employee working with another group in the shop but the statement that no employee was near by was false. Infact the person I was playing round 2 was an employee and I mentioned it to him. He was behind the counter manning the cash register most of the day before the event and only joined the event so we didn't have an odd number of players in our 5 man tournament. If they were not an employee you could see why I was confused based on how I saw them interacting with customers. When I asked do or a judge the 2nd time and my opponent (the person who I still believe was an employee) just sat there staring at me did nothing. THAT is when I decided to get up and leave 3. I did not make any contradictory comments since both statements are accurate and correct. I called for a judge and brought it to the attention of an employee. I do feel the way the shop has responded to my review by posting my original review in a attempt to be argumentative is incredibly unprofessional. They could have just asked for me to call to clear up any confusion. I have changed my rating to one. I do apologize for the inaccuracy about mentioning round 3. That should have said 2 since in my retelling it looks as though I skipped a mention of round 2. This being one reason I edited my review to be more accurate and to make the review summarize and was more relevant to the shops performance instead of a complaint about the player."
"Got back into collecting cards about 6 months ago and was struggling to find fair places to trade for cards I want for my collection. I met the owner at a card event and the next day visited his shop. He took the time to value all my cards and was very fair in valuing all of them. I ended up receiving 2 cards that will be staying in my personal collection. The best experience I have had at a card shop. Will definitely be coming back. I 100% recommend stopping in."
