"We love MCP! My son will be starting his second year soon and my daughter went here too. It’s so fun to be involved as a parent helper so I can see my son learning new skills in real time! I love this school’s focus on play and social skills. Teacher Paula is great at helping kids work together and resolve conflicts. I haven’t definitely stolen her techniques to help with sibling squabbles at home :) Highly recommend this sweet and supportive school!"
"Our son will be starting his 3rd year here, and we love it! Teacher Paula is fantastic, and I like being able to be a parent-helper in class. Getting to see the kids learn and grow and practice their social skills is great. I'd highly recommend MCP if you're looking for a preschool!"
"I am BEYOND happy with our choice to attend Metzger Preschool! I can not say enough good about this school. I would recommend it to any parent who can and wants to be an active part of their child's early learning experience! Our story---I started my oldest child at another preschool when he was 3 years old, we were looking for him to gain some independence and social skills. It was a good first experience, but in my heart I felt it was lacking that communication and sense of community I was searching for. I felt I wanted to be more hands on and a part of what my child was doing, so I began the search... We found Metzger and decided to give it a try. I had never heard of a co-op or knew what it was all about so for me the entire experience was new and refreshing vs. the pick up, drop off, and somewhat cold routine school day that we had come from. My child went from, "Mom I don't really want to go to school today." To every single night asking, "is tonight a school night mom? Do we have school tomorrow?" He is now eager to go and that makes my heart so happy. He loves his friends and teacher Mary so much and is really thriving and becoming a fun person to watch grow and excel in his learning. Honestly, as a parent what more could I ask for? My youngest starts this upcoming year at 3 years old and we plan to continue until he is ready for kindergarten! Everyone is so welcoming, outgoing and nice to work with. You get lots of chances to meet all the other parents as well. I love that Metzger does a lot of outside of school hours extra activities for people to be a part of if they chose to. Such as, *fruit festivals *costume parties * caroling night and holiday festivities *ginger bread house making *open houses *family Saturday's for parents who can't always come to the class room *field trips *spring outings- just a few to name off the top of my head. So, needless to say I have had an amazing experience and could not be happier! Thank you for letting us be a part of such wonderful school."
"This is a cooperative preschool where the families truly care about each other. I have seen so many wonderful and lasting friendships created in our hallways and our classroom this year. It's been inspiring to watch!"
"Couldn't be more pleased with this preschool. Their philosophy is learning through play. In fact, the first hour of each day is play time- and they learn the important social skills needed for elementary school. They have choices during that first hour- art, puzzles, playdough, reading, games, dress up or cooking, and in the famed rainbow room there are blocks, legos, chalkboard and mats for building forts. Teacher Mary is superb- keeps the kids excited and plugged in, guides them when needed, steps back and lets them play and become independent and more self confident little beings. This school is a co-op, but don't let that stop you in your tracks- after 2 other schools not being a good fit for our child, we don't mind the extra duties- a small sacrifice in the true happiness of our son."
