"This place has many drug dealers and addicts throughout the building. People who don’t live there come and go. The police show up every night due to loud screaming and fights. There a few normal people who just want to live normal lives but management does not care to address the drug problem and transient problem. It’s like staying in a motel. A very dangerous place to be. It looks nice on the outside, but you will see the people who live here do not respect others. They can not adjust. So just be aware when moving to BURI what will you get? People yelling and screaming all night, transients waiting for you at the door until you open the door with your fob, lots of drug activity. Police coming nightly. Fire alarm going off around 5 times or more a month. Transients and people knocking on your door asking for things. And worst of all, management knows what goes on, but will not respond to you. They simply do not care. So if you’d like to live in a motel with tons of illegal activity and not be able to sleep. This is your place. Oh and each floor has a trash room. Not one person uses the trash shoots. So expect your floor to stink heavily of garbage. Another thing management just doesn’t care about."
"The apartment manager accused my friend who makes good money of steeling because he just moved in and got off on the wrong floor with all his stuff he just bought from his hard earned money working at the shop yards I get it's a shady place and don't blame the manager for her mis judgement of character considering the stuff going on in the building but evicting somebody who has proof of purchase on every he had in his hands just sucks . And now it's costing him 3000 Dollars to have an attorney prove he is not a thief is just wrong. He has a lot of upstanding members of the community who have to take a day off from there jobs to be character witnesses it's effecting a lot of people's lives but that's what it's come down to and there's nothing she can even say was missing it's sad that the place is so fd up that it's jaded the managers judgment I really hope that wen this is all done the manager will figure out not everybody in the apartments are just laying around for a free ride he works a On and has his whole life he doesn't need to be dishonest"
"If I could leave zero stars I would, this place steals government funds for rental assistance… then a year after its past, they state they never received it, when I’ve given them all documentation… now they are trying to evict, with an extra amount $ without any explanation what that is for… that’s okay, I will contacting the federally funded place that they stole the funds from."
"I lived here for almost 3 years and it was the worst living experience I ever had. They market their apartments as ADA compliant, yet have no evacuation plans for disabled people living on upper floors and the elevators are constantly out of service. The fire alarms go off every other week and the managers never tell the tenants what is going on. They have the capacity to raise our rent and leave notes taped to our doors, but ignores our pleas for help because the building is falling apart. This is a brand new building that houses many disabled people, people living in poverty, and families. This should not be happening. Portfolio investment companies should not be the go to people to manage affordable housing. I have countless emails that were sent to management and never were responded to or our concerns addressed. They do not care and people will continue to suffer because of it."
"EDIT: Downgraded my rating to a 1 star, because 2 stars was just too generous. This place keeps going downhill, and fast. Don't live here until they change the way they run things. Also, not all of my photos that I uploaded of the building are showing up on their Google page. I added them to this review instead, so they don't get lost or buried. The apartment rooms are nice & cheap, and all of the appliances are new. There are quite a bit of friendly residents, and I’ve been able to carve out my own oasis for myself….but the building environment itself is not great. Porch pirates are common, since most packages get delivered in front of your door where there’s NO cameras in the hallways to catch people who do it. The entire building’s fire alarm system gets triggered once or twice a month on average, which is incredibly stressful. Most of the time, it’s just false alarms from people smoking outside, but there’s been actual fires at least 3 times since I’ve been here. The building is right by a busy intersection, so car crashes & police activity are very common. I’ve seen people vandalize their own rooms, there’s a broken window on the second floor that hasn’t been fixed in 3 months, there’s a few noisy neighbors on my floor who think yelling at 3am is okay, the management doesn’t respond well to complaints (if they respond at all), and the parking situation is really terrible—no resident parking lot at all, it’s all street parking. The street parking that is available is either on the very narrow road leading to the building, or on 99th, and neither option feels particularly safe. Depending on your standards, the Buri Building provides a semi-decent, cheap & temporary living situation, but I can’t imagine myself living here for much longer."
