Reviews
"Certainly, begin your exploration at the elevator's base. Ascend to the summit to take in the breathtaking views and read the informative historical plaques. Proceed to the left, navigating around a bend, and descend the cascading waterfall or stairs leading to the elevator's base. This delightful excursion is highly recommended if you find yourself in the downtown Oregon City area following a delectable meal. Embark on an adventure of discovery!"
"Great historic place to visit. Excellent views and a nice walkway with benches along the way. The staff working at the top was very nice and helped answer questions."
"What an interesting landmark with very cool views of old town OC, the industrial area and the falls. We were meeting my SIL for brunch and she told us about the Municipal Elevator so we made a point of parking up on the hill so we could take it down. On the way back up we stopped and learned a bit of its history by Beverly, one of the lovely volunteers who work the desk at the top. Beverly even told me that as a child she accompanied her father to the dedication ceremony when the current tower opened in 1954! Thank you to Beverly and other volunteers who help to keep Oregon history alive. I’ve lived in Portland for more then 32 years and never knew about this area and now I want to go back and explore more!!"
"Wonderful views and I liked seeing the history on how the building was being built on the land. Definitely want to revisit again sometime."
"The Oregon Municipal Elevator is a breathtaking marvel that not only transports visitors between the upper and lower parts of Oregon City but also provides an awe-inspiring panorama of the surrounding natural beauty. As you step into the vintage elevator car and ascend, you're treated to a mesmerizing visual feast that unfolds before your eyes. From the elevator's observation deck, one can marvel at the picturesque views of the Willamette River as it gracefully meanders through the heart of Oregon City. The sight of the tranquil waters reflecting the vibrant hues of the sky creates a sense of serenity and harmony with nature. The gentle sound of the waterfall adds a soothing soundtrack to the experience, further enhancing the overall ambiance. The vantage point from the elevator allows visitors to appreciate the grandeur of the Willamette Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the United States. The cascading water creates an impressive display of raw power and beauty, leaving spectators in awe of its magnitude. It's a reminder of the incredible forces of nature and the wonders that exist in our world.
