"They will intimidate all transfer applicants, tell them that transfers are renewals, jack up the price and requirements, and lie about it to the tenants all in an effort to get a lease breaking fee rather than allow a transfer, even for individuals. If you point this out to them they'll call you the scammer and threaten to take you to court. They act like they'll let you transfer, until you make a commitment, then they turn away all applicants until you break the lease. If they had just told us they were unwilling to do a transfer we could have broken lease sooner, and they could have raised the rent sooner, and everyone would have been richer. Almost no one ever gets a penny of their safety deposit back either."
"I rented their place two times. The place was good, maintenance was on time and contract was fair. their property at intersection of King's and Grant is very convenient to go to campus and accessible to Fred Meyer. The manager is old but OK if you have your life together and with no drama."
"BEWARE: These people Stan and Pat are scammers. All they do is get peoples application fee's then harass you and people n your application and then deny you. I was told that they do not rent people that have been homeless. Patty the wife told me this 4 times. The minute my sister gave them the $120 ridicules dollars for the application fee, things got weird very quick. They called and harassed everyone on my sisters rental application including her adult children. My sister was staying at a friends house and Stan was demanding we give him the owners name of her friends house. Even though my sister was not renting from them. They told us that my mum the (co-signer) did not exists and that her ssn was fake ( she is from another country but is a US citizen)and that we are lying about where she works. Stan became obsessed with my mum and her private information including her retirement. They both within a 24 hr period called my phone, and my sisters phone over 35 times. Harassing us. Told us that they their " trial" attorney says they cant rent to homeless people. And that we need to talk to " congress" about that. They refused to give us their " attorneys" name or the names of who all own these properties. Once I asked for the application fee back Stan kept telling me that no one would rent to a person who is homeless because its against the law and then kept asking me if my sister was getting money from the local Community Consortium in Corvallis and how much. He went on to tell me that " they will pay for everything" and that they wrote him a huge check for some other lady he rents to! Basically telling me that she should scam them for all she can get. He is very scatter brained and goes on and on about how his " trial" lawyer is telling him to discriminate against the homeless and persons with disabilities. The apt in Casa Court #12 was extremely dirty and in need of repairs. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH ABOUT THESE PEOPLE THEY HAVE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT SITES."
"DO NOT RENT FROM these people. Homeless and Students beware. I was a co-signer and my daughter was told by his wife PAT that I did not exist, my SSI did not exist, my grandsons did not exist and that she was a liar. How these people are still in business I do not know. They throw non-existent laws at you saying that it is illegal to rent to someone without a history of rental experience for 5 years. Luckily we not only did not rent from them but were able to retrieve the $120 dollar application fee because they kept harassing us with phone calls asking ridiculous questions and testing whether I knew my daughters phone number, sorry it's on speed dial so I don't have to remember it. They are in my book as scammers and take advantage of those who are not savvy to renting laws, especially his wife who is less than forthcoming."
"Last summer, my boyfriend and I were going to rent one of their apartments, we paid our application fees and thought we had it (even though the apartment we looked at was awful - we were desperate). I got an email the next day saying we didn't get it and I called them and asked why, they told me that my co-signers credit wasn't acceptable, not only is it illegal to give me that information, we later found out that they didn't even run the report. My co-signer then called and they said that they wouldn't rent to us because we weren't married and we were "young, white kids". They broke many laws in the process and I'm so thankful we didn't end up renting from them. They're rude told us that one of their tenants changed the locks (probably because they didn't) and so they had to break in through a window (also illegal). They told us that we had to be quiet about 10 times while we were filling out the application (illegal), and they discriminate. They also told my co-signer that they don't need to follow the law because they make their own laws. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. My boyfriends mom is a leasing agent at an apartment community and has been for 10 years, she knows all of the laws and she filed for an investigation to put them out of business."
